Chapter 29: New Seasons

Y/N's POV

We made it to a house and decided to rest there. “Jin, is the food done?” I asked. He looked over to me and smiled.

“Close. Be patient.” He laughed. I frowned, but then laughed.

“Okay let me help you.” He looked at me surprised.

“What?”I question.

“Well, its just that…nobody really helps me. They usually expect me to have the food done already. So thank you.” I smiled when I heard that.

As I was helping Jin cook, the rest of the group laughed in the living room. The living room was connected to the kitchen, so there was no divider to block us.

Once we finished, me and Jin served everyone. “Sam, come eat!” Henry shouted to Sam. “No. I’m going to sleep.”  Sam then left the window he was looking out of and went to one of the bedrooms. Henry could only sigh. As we ate I couldn’t help, but smile at how good it was. “This is amazing Jin!”

“Thanks” Jin said while stuffing his face. Ellie got up and said she was going to talk to Sam. We gave her the okay and enjoyed our night

~~~~~Next Day~~~~~

We were all chilling in the living and eating Oatmeal for breakfast. We were all quietly talking when Ellie came into the room. “Good morning guys.” She yawned and stretched herself.
“Good morning.” Me and Hobi said at the same time.

“I let Sam sleep in a bit. Ellie, can you wake up Sam?” Henry asked Ellie. She nodded her head and walked to Sam's room. As we all talked and Jin was cleaning the bowls we heard Ellie scream.

“Sam!” Ellie yelled. Ellie came out of the room with her back facing us and with what looked like an infected person trying to eat her. The thing was that this infected person was undoubtedly Sam. Henry froze in his spot and so did Jungkook, Yoongi and Jin.

“He’s turning.” I said as I grabbed my gun from the floor. As I pointed my gun to Sam, Henry shot the gun out of my hands. “What the hell!?” I shouted.

Hobi pointed his gun to Henry. “He’s…he’s my brother.” Henry’s voice started to crack. I looked at Ellie who was struggling. I ran over to my gun since everyone was shocked by what just happened. At that exact moment, the sound of a gun shot was heard. I looked over to Henry and saw smoke come out of the barrel of his gun. My eyes widen as I slowly looked over to Ellie. I saw he slowly push the boy’s lifeless body off of her and sits up. I was speechless of what just happened. Henry just did that?
Ellie slowly crawled back towards me and Hobi. Me and Hobi Ellie by her shoulders and kneel down to her level.

“Are you okay?” Hobi asked worried. “Uh-huh.” Was all she was able to muster out.

“Sam?” Henry asks. “Sam…” This time his voice broke really bad. We stood up carefully.

“Henry.” Jin says. “Henry, I’m going to take the gun. Okay?” Jin says while slowly and carefully inching closer to Henry. Suddenly Henry points the gun to all of us.

“It’s your guys’ fault.” Henry said while crying really bad. It broke my heart to see this. I tried hard to not cry from this scene.
“Henry. This is nobody’s fault.” Jin says while slowly lifting his hands up to show he is not a threat.

“No! It’s all your fault!” And with a swift of a hand, Henry went from aiming the gun to us to pointing it at the right temple of his head. He instantly pulled the trigger and killed himself. We stood there in shock. Just like that, 2 dead bodies laid on the floor. “Oh my God.” Ellie whispered out.

~~~~~FALL/AUTUMN (2 MONTHS LATER)~~~~~

“Jackson County. Means we are close to Jackson city right?” Ellie asks is all while we traveled through the beautiful forest. “Maybe in a few miles.” I responded to her. We had finally made it to Wyoming. I never had a chance to visit this State, but I do know that it is close to my home State.

Since it has just been the 7 of us all this time, we became extremely close now. But when I actually think about this I do wonder if we are too close sometimes. They have fought for me when we had to pair up sometimes. “I’m excited to meet you and Jungkook's old friend Xander.” Ellie said excitedly.

“Yeah, lets just go.” Jungkook said in a cold tone. I ran a bit further up to catch up to him. “Come on Kookie. I know you are still mad at Xander, but we need his help.” I whispered to Jungkook.

He turned to me and gave me his bunny smile. “I know.” He then threw his arm around my shoulder. I laughed at his childish action. I pushed him off of me. “Too close Kookie.” I said laughing.

He let go and laughed as well. His cheeks turned a light pink. At that moment I heard multiple coughs from behind. Me and Kookie look behind and everyone, except Ellie, pretend to be looking somewhere else. “Y’all are just jealous.” Jungkook said to them making them give him their most deadliest glare. I laughed and continued walking.

After we had walked for awhile we saw a rapid river and standing on top of it was a power plant. “That’s a hydroelectric power plant.” I point out.

“A hydra who?” Ellie asks me looking really confused.
“It uses the river’s movement and turns it into electricity.” I explain to her the basic of it.

“How does it do that?” She questions me again.

“I know what it is, but I don’t understand how its works.” I told her. I went to school, but I never finished it so I’m not that smart.

We then began to slowly cross the river to the other side. It was a bit chilly, but we all stole some warm clothes on our way here. I just can’t believe that we have been doing this for over 2 months now.

“Aughh! I’m so hungry.” Ellie whines. I was feeling a bit hungry, but I tried ignoring it.

“Me too!” Jin whines as well.

“Next squirrel I see, I am totally shooting it.” Ellie said gaining an agreement from Jin. I just turn around to look at the 2. “Lets just hurry so we can eat.” I then continued walking.
