chapter 8: RUN!

Y/N's POV

"Guys down here!" I yell and we jump down in a huge ditch like place. We overhear the soldiers conversation.

"3 casualties." The soldier says.

"Guys we need to quickly and quietly leave," Hoseok says. We all agree.

"But who is very stealthy?" Ellie asks.

"Y/N is!" Dang, it Jungkook, he's trying to get me killed first.

"I am too," Yoongi says. Well, at least I won't be guiding these people alone.

"Okay, you guys take the lead and we shall follow you guys," Ellie says.

"Let's go Yoongi," I say. We then start our way. We lead them but from a distance.

Gosh, these soldiers are everywhere. I see a building a bit far from us, but I knew that through that building the capitol would be on the other side.

"Let's go through the building so we can get to the other side," I whisper to them. We slowly make our way to the other side of the field and turns out that there are soldiers everywhere. Thank God it is dark out and no longer raining.

We go around them and slowly into the building. Now that I see it up close it looks more like a house that is just missing the second-floor walls and roof.

There is a soldier in her too? "Yoongi take them to the other side. There has to be a back door. I'll distract him so you guys can sneak past him." I tell him.

"Okay, I will." He responds. The soldier is close to us so I just need him to follow me upstairs so they can get past him. 

I find a beer bottle and picked it up and crawl my way up the stairs so he wouldn't see me. I see a desk and throw the books it had on it. It was loud enough to get the soldier's attention. I hear him coming so I run into the bathroom and break the mirror to make more noise. I keep the door open and hide behind it until he comes.

He then checks the bathroom after what felt like 20 minutes and I then hit him behind the head. Nothing. I forgot his stupid helmet is on. He grabs me by my throat and pulls me up.

I quickly kick him in the gut with both of my feet. He stumbles back and hits the sink; I quickly grab a piece of the shard from the floor. I pull him by the neck and jab the shard into his neck multiple times until he stops moving.

Then I quickly pick up his rifle and mags and then went. I finally got out and saw everyone hiding behind some concrete wall so I quickly go to them.

"Y/N, what took you so long?" Hoseok asks me.

"It's not my fault, I took long. But look I have a rifle now." I know I am not amazing with guns, but still, it can come in handy. I look over to see soldiers everywhere and I also notice that we are in a neighborhood.

"We need to get on the other side of them, but how? We can't take them on ourselves?" Jungkook states. I look down and see a coke bottle. I have an idea.

"Hey who is good at throwing?" Hoseok's head perks up.

"I am! Why do you have something for me to do?" I nod my head and pass him the bottle.

"I need you to throw it at that building over there. Maybe hit a window so they can get distracted and we can pass by. Okay?" He smiles widely and nods his head.

"I got this." He then throws the bottle and it hits the top window on the second floor. Wow, he is good.

We then see all the soldiers quickly check the building and the 5 of us quickly run to the other side. We soon see a sewer and slowly crawl into it. What we see is shocking.

"It's a building. Or more as it looks like one." Ellie says.

"This must have been a safe house before," I say, but she gave me a confused look.

"I'll tell you later," I tell her.

"Hey guys, we should loot as much stuff as we can," Jungkook tells us. We then start to take things.

We walk until we actually hit the sewer part. And let me tell you, it smells bad.

There are metal bars above our heads and there we can hear the soldiers.

"Sir, we are getting called back let's go."

Then a few moments later we hear the vehicles leaving.

"Jungkook! Help me opens this metal door." I yell at him. He hurries and helps me push it open. We finally get it open and made it to the other side.

Ellie sits down on the ground and so did I. "Hey Ellie, so let's say we deliver you to the Butterflies, then what?" I ask.

"They have a quarantine zone, they are looking for a cure and they need me." She informs me.

"Wow, we heard that before," Jungkook says in an irritated tone.

"They said that somehow I am the 'key' to this." Ellie states.

"Yeah right." Jungkook scoffs.

"Look, I am telling the truth." Ellie protests.

"Sure you are." Jungkook is pissed.

"Look fu-" I cut her off.

"Kookie, what if she is telling the truth? We came all the way here, let's go till the end." I say. Kookie being Kookie pulls me to the side.

"Do you not know what is out there?" He questions me with worry in his eyes. I then look over at Ellie. I can't just leave her here. I must finish this.

"Fine, go back 'home' with Hoseok and Yoongi, but I am finishing this," I say and walk over to Ellie.

"Let's go, Ellie." And with that, we start walking. Then I hear my name get called.

"Y/N wait up! We are coming with you." Jungkook says. I smile at the three. I was happy I wasn't going alone

"Okay! If we cut through downtown we can get to the capitol by sunrise." We got this.
