Chapter 13: Scar

Y/N's POV

As we reached Lincoln City, the sun had about 3 hours before setting. "If we cut through the woods then we can get to the town faster," I say. We start walking through the woods and it is quiet, only on occasions could you hear Hobi and Ellie laughing and Ellie trying to whistle. I find a small building which looks like it is a powerhouse for electricity.

"Hey guys, there is a ladder over there. I am going to use it to get onto the roof to see where we are." I say while going over to pick up the ladder. I align it on the wall and began climbing. As I look throughout the horizon I become breathless.

The view is astonishing. I could see the town, but the trees and hills made everything look so calming. Who would have guessed we are in the middle of a post-apocalyptic era? I then pointed my finger to the town. "Freddy lives there in that direction."

Everyone starts walking, but I call out Hobi's name making him turn to me. "Come here and wait for me," I say.

"Okay just get down from there quickly and safely okay." He says, earning a smile out of me. Quickly he says. Well okay then.

"Hobi think fast." He looks at me without thinking and I quickly jumped down with him cushioning my fall. "Haha! I didn't want to take the ladder, too basic." We then start laughing. I then get off of him and help him up.

"Don't worry, I don't think you broke me." He says while laughing. What is he trying to get at?

"Hey, I'm not fat." We then break out in laughter and run to catch up with the others.

We end up in the deserted town, but the sun is setting so we don't feel like it is safe to continue our journey at night.

We find a house and decide to stay there. The electricity still works which is good.

"I have some instant ramen in my backpack. Just wait here in the living room as I make some." Hobi says as he goes to the kitchen.

"Ellie," I began, "let's check some of the shops outside to find some first aid kits." She agrees with me and just the two of us leave.

"So let's say we get the car from this Freddy dude. Then what?" Ellie asks. We enter a pharmacy.

"We then go to Xander's place," I say while going through all the shelf to try and find something. "He is an old friend of Kookie and I. He will know where to take you from there." After I say that, I find three kits. It may not be enough, but it will do.

"Oh. Okay." Was all Ellie response to me.

As we were making our way back, I noticed Ellie had stopped walking. I turn around to see that she is reading a poster. "Mandatory Evacuation." Ellie reads out loud. "But evacuation to where?"

"You see," I began, "they went to the quarantine zone. Some places got the heads up before the infection showed up. Though most didn't." I say as I remember that horrible day.

We walk back in silence until we make it back to the house. "We're back!" Ellie says rather cheerfully. Hobi hands us ramen.

"Eat up while it's still hot." He says. I grab mine and sit on the floor and begin eating. Ellie also sits next to me and starts eating. "Ellie, you should take a nap until we leave," Hobi tells her. He really is like an older brother to her; it is nice to see that. I really miss my family.

"Okay." She says and quickly finishes her food to take a nap. I get up and threw away the cup to start fixing these guys.

"I have first aid kits, so who wants to go first?" I ask as I pick up one of the kits and hold it up. Hobi and Kookie look at each other and then scan Yoongi. "Yoongi hyung is badly injured so you should help him." I knew it, Kookie never liked the smell of rubbing alcohol nor did he like to be shirtless in front of me.

Then why was he always so cocky on stage then if he really was just a ball of shyness? I will never know.

"Hobi hyung! Let's start looting this town." Kookie says while picking up his guns and leaving with Hobi.

"Those two are great!" I say. "Well, let's get you fixed up. Show me the wounds." He takes his shirt off and my eyes widen at what I see.

Scars everywhere, but there is one huge one starting from his right shoulder down to the left side of his waist. "What happened to you?" I question.

"Long story, but none of your business." He says in a stern voice. He has gotten more mean and colder since the incident in the building. But in all honesty, he was always kind of off with me.

I sigh. I start to clean his fresh cuts from what looked like bullet wounds and perhaps a knife. "Almost done. Soon, you are good as new." I inform. I was close to finishing up when he spoke up.

"I'm sorry." He says. I look up. Did he really apologize?

"For what?" I already have an idea why, but I was just double checking. Also, I want to hear him say it.

"For not just being rude to you, but to everyone else." Yup, I am right.

"So why did you act like that?"

"After the near death experience, I realize that anything can happen to us. One of us could die. I felt like it was better to distance myself from the everyone than getting close and getting hurt. Then I realized that in the end, we need each other, so for that I am sorry." So he acted like that to protect himself.

"It was self-protection." I smile. "Don't worry, none of us are mad at you. I understand too." I say while patting his shoulder. "Well let me start bandaging you up to finish."

Just then Kookie runs in. "Wow, the rush was amazing!" Hobi though looks exhausted and traumatized.

"Speak for yourself, I almost DIED!" These two are such kids sometimes I swear.

I just shake my head and start to tie the knot on the bandage to finish up.

"Hey Y/N," Yoongi whispers, "do you still want to know how I got the scar on my back?" And me being the little nosy person I am, nods my head. "Well get cozy because it is a long story." He says while putting his shirt on. Jungkook comes over and I start to fix him up while listening to Yoongi.
