Serene and Lee were back from their honeymoon and I was exhausted. I've been all over town looking for properties for another clinic and each one failed. Discouragement started to become stronger and it made me sick to my stomach. Do you ever feel tired of being sick and tired?
Jin had to attend a conference in San Francisco and the competition for VCA was coming up soon. I was excited about the competition but, there were some forms that were missing from our file so there were delays. Although we have to do everything all over again, it's irritating. I remember that I tried applying for a job at VCA straight out of college and they wouldn't hire me. I thought that after my internship, I was assured that I had my foot in the door. I guess things work out for the better.
Jonathan, my youngest brother, was in town and came to stay with me for a few days while he was on break from school. He told me that the family reunion will be at pops house this year and mama wants me to visit California. Marie was supposed to make some kind of announcement and I don't know what she's up to but, I feel uneasy. I'm having a bad feeling about this but, I don't know what it is. I have to just follow my gut and prepare for the worst. I called Jin on the phone and explained that I wasn't going to the family reunion. Every time we talk on the phone, I felt that he's always smiling.
"Are you nervous about your sister visiting?" When he asked me that, I had to really think about it before answering. I knew Marie was going to be there but, I wasn't afraid that she was going to be there. I'm not 12 anymore and I was ready if she wanted to get this work. Mama wanted me to visit and I felt guilty since I wanted to see my parents as well as my brothers but, something was off.
"It's not that. Something isn't right and the family reunion is next week."
"Really? I have a conference in San Francisco. It will be nice if we can go together." Thinking about Jin meeting my parents was too soon. I didn't mind but, I haven't met his family yet either. Maybe we can go to my hometown another time. "My flight leaves this Friday. We can meet up and have dinner before I leave. How's that sound?
"Sounds like a date to me." I said with a smile on my face and Jin chucked.

The head chef knew Slim and we were going to get the VIP treatment. Slim was Jin's best friend since school and he told me that Slim was going with him to San Francisco. He told me about a nice restaurant that he wanted to take me to. It was romantic and the food was amazing. "Wear something sexy." He added.
"That goes for the both of us." I replied. Before Jin hung up the phone he wanted to spend some time together so he asked me: "Where are you?"
"I'm at the library near Buddies Café, Why?"
I was looking for some buildings that were for sale since I got off work. The competition gave Dr. Park and I some cases to treat some of the pets that needed surgery. One case in particular, was going to be extremely difficult. This dog needed major surgery but, due to health complications, I wouldn't perform surgery when there's a small chance of survival. I've tried looking into the case further by researching alternative medicine and procedures. So much to do in a short period of time. Jin decided to come to the library since I was working on a case.
