Dae's POV (the font yard above)
Relieved that Meghan was no longer a threat, Brian was next on my list. Finally, after all this time, we can live in peace. There were so many cars causing me to become more anxious since I was on my way to the airport to get my baby. Over and over, mama wanted me to move with her to Ohio. It wasn't safe to move yet since Brian was still out there. There was still some unresolved business that I needed to take care of.
I knew that I couldn't tell Slim or Lee that I was going after Brian. I knew what I was getting into and waiting on the police was a joke. If I wanted to seek Justice for my husband, daughter and father, I was going to take it, with interest. Pulling up to the curb, Ye-Jun was escorted to the car. Tony demanded that bodyguards and security travel with Ye-Jun while he was traveling. Although they made sure to keep their distance, Ye-Jun thought they were strangers that were going on vacation.
Thankfully, nobody was suspicious and we made sure to call and check on him everyday. Once he got in the car, I noticed that was looking more like his dad. Jin would be so proud.
"Hey butternut." I said gently
He was getting older and I knew that he was going to start middle school soon. After he buckled his seatbelt, I drove off and sent Tony a message that we were on our way back. Just in case we were being followed, I was meeting Tony during his rehearsal. Ye-Jun was excited to be back with me and Tony but, he continued to rant about Nanna.
"I learned how to cook Mama."
He cooked several recipes and worked on her garden. It wasn't that much excitement when he mentioned that he did not like the chickens because of the smell. Once she parked Tony's car, they took the elevator to the top floor and went inside the honeymoon suite. Knowing that there was someone watching her, she remained calm and changed the subject.
"Are you excited about school?"
Ye-Jun was growing up so fast. I remember that Jin would sing to him when we were at the hospital. He was so happy to become a dad. Tears of joy from Jin was endearing that he tried to play tough. It made me smile to see how attentive he was after I gave birth.
The door creaked open and as soon as their eyes met, Tony rushed to pick him up. Holding him in his arms, he gave me a peck on the lips as if we were one big happy family. It wasn't right. I needed time to think about what was best for Ye-Jun. Will Ye-Jun be happy if Tony and I married? Will I regret giving him a second chance? Can he stay sober if we get married and he goes on tour? So many question that were on my mind it made me overwhelmed and I had to sit down.
"What's wrong penguin?"
"Nothing. Just tired I guess."
With a smile, he whispered something to Ye-Jun and they both laughed.
"Appa? Where is our surprise?" Ye-Jun asked
Curious, I sat up straight in my seat. There was that feeling again that he was up to something.
"What are you up to?" I asked as I folded my arms.
"Nothing." He scratched his nose and turned his eyes to Ye-Jun to put him down.
"Wow. He's getting bigger." Tony stated
"Don't change the subject. What surprise?"
Looking over his shoulder at Ye-Jun watching cartoons, he sat next to me. Looking down on my lap, he reached over and caressed my cold hands. With a sweet whisper, he told me that my surprise was waiting for me tonight. His minty breath tickled my ears and he was pulling me towards him. Sharing a deep kiss, we hear giggling in the background. Immediately, I pull away laughing.
