What happens when jealousy come in-between family? Dae, Serene and Becca have to face their own hardships. Although they have each other, is sisterhood enough for them to get through tragedy, trials and betrayal?
I was in my basement thinking about Ji'nyah. Holding the necklace she gave me, I thought about the last time I saw her and the conversation that we had as father and daughter. Telling me how much she wanted to play the piano for Dae and I on our wedding anniversary. It was just like her. Always wanting to make people happy. Lost in my own thoughts, I didn't hear Lee and Slim come in. Dae was upstairs on the phone with Todd and her brothers. She told me that she was tired of hardships and she was determined to find out who killed our daughter.
When Ji'nyah was killed, Dae lost it. She would sit by Ji'nya's bed holding her picture. Momma called everyday and it seems like it helped Dae mentally. When she had a breakdown, I took her to the hospital. Understanding that she suffered so much trauma, the doctor wanted her to take medication. Although she refused, I will never forget the look on her face when she said: "Medication will not bring her back. The only way to fix this is with blood."
After changing my clothes, Lee and Slim wanted me to meet them in the backyard. There was a new chief in Lee's department and it was unexpected. Slim continued to look over several reports for Ji'nya and Pops. Mike called Lee on his cell phone to see if they were coming to his performance.
"Will Slim be there too. I can put him on the VIP list?" Mike asked
"I'll ask him. But I want to know more about Ace." Lee stated grinding his teeth.
Slim and I watch Lee's expression. Listening to Mike explain the relationship between Ace and Serene. Lee dropped the phone hearing that Ace was Becca's next client.
"Becca told me that she heard Lee on the phone asking about security cameras on Jin's house. What's going on?" I picked up the phone sine I heard my name.
"Mike, Slim wanted to test the cameras at my house and tell Becca to have her facts straight first."
Annoyed that I had to explain the cameras to Mike, I understood that he was getting jealous of Slim since he hasn't seen Lee and I for awhile. Expressing how he feels left out, I assured Mike that we were busy at work. There was a new chief in Lee's department and taking care of Dae after so many hardships in her life, I wanted to make sure that I was there for my wife. The awards show may be a chance for Dae to get out of the house and have a nice time.
She can dress up and have fun but I was going to ask her about it first before confirming anything with Mike. Although he was relieved that Cody wasn't going to be there, when he mentioned that Ace was going to perform a solo, it caught Lee's attention. Trying to take his phone back, I asked Mike to call Lee back later. I hung up the phone and looked at Lee. We had more important things to take care of but the worry in his eyes concerned me.

The Next Day
I decided to take a nap after my video conference. Unfortunately, just as I start to doze off, Ye-Jun wakes me up. Dae was downstairs cooking and it was time for dinner. Walking to the kitchen, I rested my chin on her shoulder and embraced her from behind.
