Author's POV (Cody above)
Becca was on the phone with Edward and he explained that she had to assist Cody. Although Cody wanted to replace Becca with another assistant, he had no choice since Edward wanted Becca. Becca was the best in the business and there were no other assistant that can compare to Becca's expertise. Becca was the only one he could depend on.
Before his rehearsal, she looks over his schedule. Cody was in the dressing room resting before practice. He was laying on one of the cots by the wall. She walked up to him and just as he was waking up. The performance was Saturday and Cody was feeling exhausted. "Bella?" His eyes met hers and Becca noticed how much he changed but some things stayed the same.
After all these years, she started to question herself. Hoping that she didn't make a mistake by leaving Cody. "Have you eaten?" Lost in thought, Becca just stood there remembering the times that they shared together. He was her lover and the best one she's ever had. Of course, she would never tell Mike. Clearing her throat, she walks up to Cody. "Not yet. Have you?" Cody stood up and stretched. His hands reaching towards the ceiling as he let out a yawn. "I'll make you some breakfast after I get dressed."
He smiled at her and immediately, she smiled back. He walked to the breakroom where there was food packed and beverages. "I'll fix you some food. Can you find us a seat?" She nods excessively trying to control the butterflies that consumed her. Walking to a table that was near an outlet, she plugged in the charger for her laptop.
She sat down looking at some of the files that was sent from her boss Edward, Cody walks up to the table and sat next to her. He placed a napkin on her lap causing her to jump. "Are you okay Bella?" Cody asked. She sat up in her seat giving herself assurance that she can fight off the charm that she fell for. "I'm fine. Lets go over your schedule."
After breakfast, Becca went with Cody to rehearsal but she kept thinking about Mike. Cody had a busy schedule today but Becca needed this event to be a success especially when her reputation is at stake. Becca felt good knowing that he didn't want to keep her as a secret or afraid for people to know that they were together when they were dating. Looking at Cody during rehearsal really made her think about how Mike would brush her to the side when it came to his mother. When they arrived at the venue, Cody went to the stage to practice while Becca watched him.
The hip thrusting and sensual movement made Becca remember how much she craved him after she left Italy. Knowing that he found out about Mike made her think about Dae. "Did she really sleep with Cody?" Thinking out loud, one of the makeup artists tapped her on the shoulder. "Mrs. Yi, your phone is ringing." It was a call from Mike and she declined the call. Why didn't she answer Mikes call? After practice, Cody was sitting down as Becca approached him.
He looked exhausted so Becca gave him a bottled water. Gazing at him as he brought the water bottle to his lips, she watched as he gulped down the whole bottle. Cody noticed that Becca was staring at him and winked. She felt a chill go down her spine. "What's wrong?" He asked. Avoiding the question, she looked down at her feet. Lifting her chin up with his finger he said "You look down to no one." A smile appears slightly on Becca's face and she walks to the other side of the room to call Mike back.
