Dae POV (Mike above)

I had a stressful day looking for another job so, I went to Buddies to get out of the house. Serene wanted to watch Yi-Jun since her students were on school break. Today was a day for myself and I thought going online looking for jobs would help.

There was a table by the window near an outlet where I can look for more jobs on my laptop. After turning it on, I had a strange feeling and started to think about my dad. I wanted Jin to look into my fathers report for the cause of death and check on Marie's as well.

Something was off but I needed proof. I didn't realize that my mind started to wonder. Scrolling through several emails from employers, all of the offers were off the table once they checked the status of my license. Uneasiness continued to give me pause which caused me to get lost in my own thoughts. My phone buzzed and it interrupted my thought process. Instead of texting back, I decided to call back.

"Nae salang. Did you eat? I can go to the grocery store after work."

"I called you to see if you wanted anything from Buddies. I'm going to hang out here for awhile."

"Alright. Don't stress out over working and if you have any cravings I can stop by the store."

When I ended the call with Jin, a lawyer came to mind when I thought about my dad. Before I could check lawyers in my area I noticed it was almost time for me to pick up Yi-Jun. I took out my phone and called Serene

"Hey, what's up? How's Yu-Jun?"

"He's doing good. He's been my best student."

"That's good. Do you want to meet me at Buddies? They have marshmallow fluff."

"Hmm, that sounds good. We're on our way."

"I'll be there after Lee wakes up."

Leaning back in my chair, I started to make a grocery list on my phone. As soon as I tucked my phone in my purse, someone called my name. That voice felt so familiar and that same feeling came over me but, it was much stronger this time. When I turned around, my eyes were glued on the person that I thought would remain in my past, not bring back old memories. Greeting me with smile, his eyebrows lifted.

"What what are you doing here?"

"I just came here to get me some coffee."

"Last time I checked, you were not a coffee drinker.

"I decided to come in when I saw you in the window."

Tony's eyes continued to stare at me and there was a hint of sadness that was too familiar. Wiping those same eyes that shed so many tears, I was the only one there when all we had was each other.

"Last time we spoke, I told you I never wanted to see you again."

"Please Dae, just hear me out." He begged.
