What happens when jealousy come in-between family? Dae, Serene and Becca have to face their own hardships. Although they have each other, is sisterhood enough for them to get through tragedy, trials and betrayal?
Finally it was time for the hearing with the board of Directors. The appeal was approved however, Dae knew that she would no longer be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. For support, Tony called Cody to be present. Knowing that he was in town after his performance, Tony wanted to have as many people there to support her. Lee suggested that it wasn't a good idea to inform Mike and Becca about the hearing. Mike's loose lips would cause Dae more danger since he couldn't keep a secret.
Ri and Todd were waiting in the lobby for Dae to arrive. It was best for her to focus on what she was going to say to the board. Tony drove while she continued to close her eyes in prayer. Her head leaned back on the head rest trying to control the tears the fell from the outer corners of her eyes. Once the car was parked, she started loosing her composure. In a matter of minutes, the board was going to listen to her statement and make a decision once and for all.
Going back to school for a Veterinary Technician degree would allow her to work doing what she loved but, her passion was to treat animals and perform surgeries. It was like her college days but with technology, she was able to take her classes online. Only in the first semester, Dae was still determined to graduate as a Veterinary Technician. Would the board reject her degree as a Veterinary Technician too?
Holding her hand, Tony leaned in and gave her a sweet peck on the lips. With an reassuring nod, she forced a smile. Knowing that Jong and Ri supported her through her whole ordeal, she was grateful that Tony was there for her every step of the way. Unsure, she still was considering accepting his proposal. There was still time for her to make a decision. She wasn't sure if she wanted to sell the house and marry Tony or if she was going to focus on school and keep the house that Jin brought.
"Penguin?" He whispered
Understanding that Tony wanted to marry her, there was an odd feeling that overwhelmed her. She sensed that something changed. There was an energy that was different. It was like something has shifted inside her.
"Are you nervous about your final exam for the semester?" He asked
Then it dawned on her. She had to take her final exam before completing the first semester in a few days. Unable to respond, he looked in the back seat. Ye-Jun was asleep from the long car ride. Before he opened the door, he pulled her into an embrace and squeezed her tightly.
Meanwhile
Enjoying the cocoon of warmth in his king sized bed, the alarm woke him up. Thinking that the snooze button was an additional five minutes, Jong overslept. Knowing that Dae's hearing was today, he was pressed for time and if he was late, he would have to wait in the lobby. Ri was already there and noticed several text messages. Before reading them, he jumped out of bed to get dressed. Almost knocking the the front door off the hinges, Jong kicked his front door wide open. Huffing and puffing he sped to the parking garage as fast as his legs could carry him.
