It was later on in the day when we headed to the park. To my disappointment it was warm enough to not wear my jacket and to just carry it.
"You okay feel?" Oswald asked me, squeezing me hand.
"Yeah just dazed out again" I giggled nervously.
"You gotta stop doing that" Oswald smiled slightly.
I nodded, focusing on walking. We walked for quite awhile before getting to the same park I had run off to.
"Do you need to rest?" Oswald asked me.
I shook my head no, it felt good to be out walking again.
"Okay but if you get tired please tell me" Oswald looked down at me, waiting for an answer.
"Okay honey bun" I couldn't help but giggle at how protective he had become.
We walked through the park for awhile, just talking to each other and figuring things out.
Finally we took a small break to get a drink at the cafe not far. It seemed too be going great till I heard something off to the side.
I perked my ears up a little, trying to listen in.
"Is that Felix the cat?" I heard someone whisper.
"No he's married now, his name is changed" another female voice replied.
"Oh? Is that his husband?" A third voice asked.
"It must be. Such a shame he's gay. He would be a great straight male." The first girl said again.
"Yeah. What made him go gay for that rabbit?" I heard the third girls voice again.
"Well the rabbit is nice looking, but still. He had such a chance. Now look at him. It's been almost a year since he has written anything. Looks like he gained some too" the second girl grunted.
I felt sick to my stomach like I use to every morning.
I quickly took a sip of my drink, still listening to them.
"Oh he does. I wonder if he stopped exploring..." The third girl let her sentence trail off.
"That rabbit probably got him to settle down in a house. Poor Felix" the second girl replied.
"Poor Felix? He should be taking care of himself. I mean the rabbit looks fit. I think he's just letting himself go. Such a idol. I can't wait to see what he write about next. Family life? Something boring like taxes and shit" the first girl said.
I felt hollow, listening to everything that was being said about me.
"What about that blonde cat? Weren't they dating?" The third girl asked again.
"No I think Felix turned her down for the rabbit." Girl number two replied to her.
I about had enough of it when I heard that.
"Ozzy can we get going?" I asked softly.
"Sure feel. You okay?" Oswald asked looking concerned.
"Yeah I just don't like being in public" I explained.
"Of course. Let me go pay" Oswald stood up, heading tiwards the counter.
I stood up, grabbing my coat and slipping it on.
"Omg he looks pregnant" I heard girl number one say.
I froze in place, I felt sick to my stomach and like I was going to cry.
As soon as Oswald came back I pulled him outside with me.
"I knew it..."
