“Rowan! It’s time for you to wake up!” My father’s new girlfriend of the week called to me through the door.

I threw my pillow at the door and grunted. School already? God, can’t it just be outlawed? I mean with all the suicides and shit like that you think they would. School is just like an asylum.

“Rowan!” She called again.

“I’m up! God!” I said standing out of bed.

I opened my door with a fast swing of my arm making it hit the back of the wall with its handle.

“You need to respect your home Rowan. You’re lucky you have it.” She said following me down the hall to the bathroom.

“Don’t you have somewhere else to be? I mean you could be jerking off my dad right now but you’re wasting your time talking to me.” I said looking back at her with a dark glare.

I saw the urge in her eyes to hit me and I smiled devilishly at her.

“Go ahead and hit me. I don’t really care anymore.” I said to her but she kept her hands at her sides.

“Well then, off you go.” I said shooing her off with my hands.

She walked away from me and headed down the hall her arms crossed over her chest.

I know that I might seem like a really big brat but since mom left dad fifteen years ago, he’s been with more than two-hundred women. Some I actually liked but it was because they acted like mom so much.

I brushed my teeth, put my hair into a ponytail and applied some mascara and lip balm, then made my way back to my room where I put on a pair of ripped jeans, a gray tee-shirt, and my vans. I slung my backpack over my right shoulder and walked into the living room. The place was a compete pig-sty.

“Great.” I said to myself as I walked into the kitchen, got a bowl of cereal and some water and ate.

“Morning Rowan.” My father said to me startling me a bit.

I put the spoon back into the bowl and looked up at him.

“So, who’s your new wench dad?” I asked with a glare.

“Rowan,” He said but I interrupted him.

“I mean it’s fair for me to ask. I’m surprised she hasn’t gotten pregnant yet. You do use protection right dad? I really do not want a little brother.”

He set his water glass down on the counter and returned my stair.
