Jonathan's pov

We're almost there I can feel it. Bryce's magic. Its weak but it goes stronger the closer we go. Vanoss is still driving and the guys in the back is arguing about who is stronger. I have a perfect plan, but I'm not sure if it will exactly work. I'll admitted the guys are kinda strong when they have each other, but I think they trust me too much. They're letting their guard down and I can easily take them down. Especially Vanoss. I looked at vanoss and he was concentrated on the road. I looked back at my window. The reason I woke up was because I remembered vanoss can't see the smoke and I think he forgot so I've been telling him where to go. Wait. "Stop." I told vanoss. Vanoss pulled the car over and I got out. The smoke stopped at a pole. A POLE! What does that have to do with anything? I was furious. I kicked the pole three times making it bend. I sat on the ground with my head down. Bryce I'm so sorry.

"What happened?" Luke asked.

"The smoke stops here." I whispered, but loud enough so that they can hear me.

"Are you serious?" Luke said.

"This can't be." Brian mumbled.

"You set us up!" Tyler yelled at me. I didn't care. I kept my head down. I failed.

"Tyler, he can't set us up if he's also trying to save his brother to." Vanoss said, calming Tyler down. Tyler sighed and sat on the ground.

"What are we going to do?" Vanoss asked me, going next to me.

I didn't say anything. There has to be something here. It can't just stop like that. Bryce scent can't stop at this pole. I got up and started to dig around the pole.

"What are you doing?" Tyler got up.

"Looking for something. The trail can't just stop here. Kitten scent can't stop here. It shouldn't. his magic is still here." I said. Vanoss went next to me and started to dig too. Soon the others helped. After what seemed like an hour Brian found something.

"Look! This looks like a lever or something." Brian said. I went towards him and pulled on the stick. The ground started to shake a little bit and the ground started to open like a trap door. Everyone was trying to keep their balance until I noticed that the ground was opening from beneath us too. "Run!" I shouted, but it was too late. We all fell. We landed on the hard ground, well not me. My eyes were closed the whole time. I opened them to see vanoss underneath me. He smirked at me and I quickly got up. I looked at the guys and they were up, groaning and complaining.

"Where the hell are we?" Tyler asked, rubbing his head.

"I don't know, but it looks like it can lead us to the others." I said. I started to walk ahead with the others following behind. Vanoss catches up to me and gives me a questionable look.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Nothing, just seeing if you're OK." He said looking forward. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. Everything started to shake. I saw little pieces of rocks falling between me, vanoss and the guys. I yelled at the three to run over here, but it was too late. Rocks blocked our way. Now I'm stuck with vanoss, great now I have to deal with this guy.

"Are you guys OK?!" I yelled so they can hear me.

"We're OK!" Tyler yelled. Well I guess now I have to get rid of vanoss so he doesn't have to get captured by the scientists, but how?

"I want you guys to stay there. Keep watch!" I yelled.

"Alright! Good luck!" Brian yelled.

"Don't get hurt vanoss, you too delirious!" Luke yelled. This is going to be one hell of a journey

We was walking for a while now. There were no exits yet. We didn't talk at all.

"Evan." He randomly said. I stopped and looked at him, confused.

"My name is Evan." He said looking at me. I started to panic a little. He's trusting me way too fast and I don't want to hurt him. I don't know if I should tell him my name. "It's OK you don't have to tell me your name." He said, putting his head down and walking away. I just stood there. Take deep breaths Jonathan. I looked down at my feet.

"My name is Jonathan." I said. He stopped walking and looked at me. He started to laugh. I looked at him. "What's so funny?" I asked, annoyed.

"Nothing, I just thought about how your name would be like Jon or Jonny or something, but it Jonathan and that's weird. You actually look like a Jonathan you know that?" He said.

"There's nothing funny about that." I glared at him.

"It's OK. You'll laugh about it one day when were together." He said, walking away. What? What did he say? I ran up next to him.

"What did you say?" I asked.

"Nothing important." He smirked.

"God dammit, Evan!" I yelled, crossing my arms.

"Wha-" Evan got cut off by another voice in the distant.

"Did you hear that?" A deep voice questioned.

"No." A normal toned voice answer.

"We need to keep going forward and find away pass them." I whispered.

"Kill them. That's a way." He whispered back, smiling. I rolled my eyes, but for some reason seeing him smiled made me smile back at him. I don't normally do that especially towards him. We kept walking straight until we saw an exit. There were two guards blocking it.

"I get the one on the right and you get the one on the left." I whispered to Evan. Evan nodded and got ready. I whispered go and we used our super speed to attack them. I snap the guys neck and Evan ripped out the guys throat. I smiled at him and opened the door. It was white and really bright in here. I'm not going to lie, I'm kinda scared and I think Evan noticed because he gave me a smile telling me everything will be OK. I looked around and saw an open cell with curtains on it. I sighed. This is it. I grabbed Evan and pushed him in there, closing it and it automatically locked. "What the hell are you doing?" Evan questioned.

"I don't want you to get hurt. This is my war. I will get your people, lead them down here and tell them to open it for you. You're going to leave with them no matter what, OK? And take my brother with you. Make sure he leaves here and don't let him come back for me no matter what." I said, feeling guilty.

"Please, Jonathan. Let me help. I didn't come here for no reason." Evan begged.

"I know. You came here to save your people not get killed. So I'm going to do that job for you. I'll kill as much scientists as I can, but you have to leave for the plan to work." I said. I had this weird feeling like I wanted to cry, but I'm not gonna let that happen.

"Please." He whispered.

"I'm sorry." I said, closing the curtains so that it hides him. A tear escaped my eyes. I ran down the hall not looking back.

"Jonathan!" I heard Evan yell. I don't know why but that hurted me so much than I thought. Where are they? I looked through almost all of the cells. I was panicking, thinking about what they could have done to them.

"I can't, I can't, I can't." I repeated, slowly sitting on the floor. I was crying, I couldn't stop. I don't want anyone dead because of me. What if they killed Bryce already? I pulled at my hair in frustration. I then felt a pair of arms wrap around me. I panicked and turned around to be met with familiar brown eyes, Evan. I hugged him, like I was going to lose him too.
