Chapter 9

Kimberly's Perspective

I sat in my room, thinking about what Grayson said. Was he telling me the truth? He has never lied to me. I have never lied to him. Maybe he was telling the truth and I just didn't want to take any chances of getting hurt again. I might just have to find out for myself. I grabbed my phone and called Ethan but it went straight to voicemail. 

I was kind of shocked that he didn't pick up. Grayson is my friend and, I'm starting to question myself as to why I didn't believe him. I grabbed my phone, purse, and keys and drove to the apartment. i don't know why I was doing this but something was telling me to do so. Once I got there, I didn't even bother parking my car across the street in the parking garage. I parked my car in front of the apartment building and making sure to lock my car. I ran inside pushing the buttons to the elevator, getting more and more anxious. The elevator was taking too long so I went to the stairs and ran until I was on the top floor. I ran down the hallway until I made it to my front door. I was so out of breathe, I just had so stop. Beads of sweat were starting to form on my forehead. 

Once I had caught my breathe, I unlocked the door, looking around and I see it. With my own eyes. Ethan and some blonde chick sitting on the couch. Ethan's head snapped towards me and his smile faded once he saw me. I immediately rushed out of the apartment and he started running after me. He grabbed my wrist and turned me around. 

"Kim! Wait!"

"WAIT FOR WHAT?!"

"Baby, I'm sorry."

"DON'T FUCKING CALL ME THAT! DON'T FUCKING TELL ME YOUR SORRY, BECAUSE EVIDENTALLY YOU'RE NOT! YOU OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA GET AWAY WITH THIS HUH?! CHEATNG ON ME WITH HER?! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN YOU WERE SUCH A FAKE! WHY DIDN'T I BELIEVE GRAYSON?!"

"Kim. It was a mistake. It won't happen again!"

"YOU'RE RIGHT! IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. WE. ARE. OVER!"

I should've believed Grayson. I just didn't want to get hurt but look where I am. Grayson was telling me the truth this whole time and I just threw it away. I got my phone out and called Grayson as I was walking away. and outside. It rang three times before he spoke up.

GRAYSON- hello?
KIMBERLY- Gray?
GRAYSON- Kimberly. Where are you?
KIMBERLY- I'm...uh outside. At the apartment. I'm outside the apartment building.
GRAYSON- I'm on my way.
KIMBERLY- Ok.
GRAYSON- I'm sorry.
KIMBERLY- It's not your fault. Grayson I'm sorry for not believing you.
GRAYSON- Kimberly I'm sorry that my brother is such a dumbass. You deserve so much better.
KIMBERLY- I just want you to be here right now.
GRAYSON- I'm almost there.
KIMBERLY- Ok.

I hung up the phone and waited outside for Grayson. I can't believe Ethan did this. I thought he was different from everybody else, but he just gave me proof that he's like everybody else. Grayson finally got here and I ran to him. He held me in his embrace and I couldn't do anything else but cry. Hard. It hurt like a bitch...

Ethan's Perspective

"Baby, who was that...girl?" Courtney asked with a disgusted look on her face.

"My girlfriend that I just lost." I mumbled.

"ETHAN! You told me you weren't in a relationship. You disgust me." She said and walked out with her stuff. What the fuck did I just get myself into. I looked out of the window an d saw That she was sill standing outside, she was on the phone talking. I stood there the whole time watching her every move. Grayson came into view and she ran to him and just started crying. What happened to me?

Kimberly's Perspective

"C'mon. Let's get out of here."

"where are we going."

"To get ice cream. It helps me when I'm upset sometimes." Grayson said making me laugh.

"Yay! You're laughing again!" He laughed, which only made me laugh harder.

"W-why are we laughing?" I asked

"I don't know. Why are we laughing?"

We got in my car but Grayson drove. It took about 15 minutes to get there because of traffic. I got on my phone and started to text Ashley.

Kimberly: 

I broke up with Ethan

Ashely:

Why????

Kimberly:

I caught him cheating on me

Ashley:

Awww I'm sorry boo <3

Kimberly:

Grayson pulled up to the Ice cream parlor and I literally hopped out of my seat and ran inside like a little kid. Ice cream is the best and it does make me feel better. Grayson locked the car and put the keys in his pocket. We both got in line. There was an old couple in front of us. The old lady turned around and looked at us. 

"You guys are a beautiful couple." She spoke. She had such a sweet smile and it just lit up my day. she though that me and Grayson were a couple.

"Thank you ma'am, but we aren't a couple." I said

"Oh pardon me, I'm so sorry." She said. Her smile kind of faded.

"Its ok. You didn't know."

"I know that we just met but something tells me that he will be there for you. He's the one for you. He's gonna make you smile, he's gonna be there for everything. He seems like such a nice gentleman. Keep him in your life because you never know when they will leave you. Spend so much time with him as possible." I took this lady's words in. I took it in and what she was saying, it felt like it was true. 

Am I catching feelings for Grayson? I can't be. I literally just broke up with Ethan. I'll seem like some whore. I'd be a hoe! Grayson is sweet and such a good friend. I just don't want to fall for him, at least not now. I'm still hurting from breaking up with Ethan. It still hurts.

"I will. Thank you for that. I needed that."

"Oh you are so welcome, dear." She smiled and went back to her husband. They are such a wonderful couple. Grayson looked at me and smiled. It was finally our turn to get ice cream. I got swirl of vanilla and strawberry. Grayson got mint chocolate. 

"Dammit!" I said.

"What?"

"I forgot my wallet."

"Kimberly, I am paying." Gray said.

"You don't have to my wallet is in the car I'll go and get it. I-"

"Kimberly. I'm paying. End of discussion." He said and paid for our ice cream.

"Fine, but I'm paying next time."

"Ok." He
