The Selection without America?

REBELS...nevermind false alarm

America's POV
Kamber drags me inside the palace. When I step in I let go of her hand and look up at the dazzling chandelier. It flowed and sparkled under the bright lights. I move my gaze down to the stair case. It goes up three floors or more I couldn't tell. I take in the marble floor and the fancy wall paper. I look down at myself and my clothes. I looked like I just wandered off the streets. Like I was an intruder. I certainly didn't belong.

"Come on America!" Kamber said waving her arm in my direction.

I followed Kamber to a bunch of rooms. Her telling me what each one was for. I got lost on what the third was was for. Why do these people think they need all these rooms for almost nothing? I asked myself. Kamber just kept talking away. I needed a break.

"Hey Kamber Where's the bathrooms?" I asked.
"To your left then your right then walk straight down the hall and it should be right in front of you. Want me to show you?"
"No ive got it thanks." I said running down the hall.

I really didn't need to go but you know just wanted to get away from the whole talking a lot thing. I love Kamber. But she seems to have changed. She's not goofy anymore. She's all sophisticated and really mature. Something a teenager shouldn't be yet.

Officer Andy POV
I was standing at my post almost drifting off to sleep. The other guards and I had played poker last night in the kitchen with the kitchen staff and the maids. We also played other fun games. The guards won some of those games and we celebrated by having some drinks. I think I had one to many. I felt nauseous and couldn't think straight. I was defiantly hung over. Then I saw a flash of red hair. It was long so it had to be a girl or a boy with really long hair. I kinda saw what the person was wearing. Ripped jeans and a loose white top and some Converse on their feet. I knew it. It was a rebel. The rebels have decided to attack the day that Lady Kamber's friend is coming over. I rushed to pull the Rebel Alarm. It sounded over the speakers to the whole palace.

I was going to be a hero. I thought. I rushed after the person and tackled them to the ground. The girl yelled and screamed.
"Why are you here REBEL" I screamed. I saw the other guards run down a different hallway looking for more.
"What do you mean. I'm not a rebel!!" The girl asked confused but still struggling.
"Yes you are now tell me what you are planning." I said getting out my gun. The girl screamed again. Arms flailing in all directions and legs kicking. I wasn't going to let her out of my grasp. Not this time. I will not mess up again.

I stood and took the girl's arms and put them behind her back and put cuffs on her. Her long red hair got all up in my face. I pushed it away and then spit on the ground it get some hair out of my mouth. I then walked into a secret wall door made to go into a safe room. I pushed her in and closed the door behind her. Locking her in.

I then went on my way to find the other rebels. I was ready to fight. I turned the corner and bumped into someone. It must be a selected because she screech at the top of her lungs. My vision was going a little blurry. Stupid hangover I thought.

I looked down and the girl was sitting there rubbing her head with her hand. I helped her up and ran to one of the main safe room's entrance. I looked both ways making sure no one was following me. I opened the door and shut it. I walked down the stairs quick. The girl in my arms said some words but my mind couldn't put the words into sentences. I stubbled a few times.

I opened the door and there was the royal family. Royal advisers. And most of the selected. I set down the girl I had in my arms and about 10 girls went over to the girl making sure she was okay.

"It's fine. We just bumped into each other when rounding a corner." I said I heard a few girls sigh in relieve.

"I don't know what I would do without Kriss. She's so nice and kind to everyone" one girl said who was standing over the girl in the seat I put her in. Kriss. That was her name.

Then a Burnett girl with bright green eyes came running to me.

"Please tell me where my best friend is. She about this tall" she moved her hand to a height. "Bright. Bright. Bright red hair. And sparkling blue eyes. You gotta find her." The girl begged.

"Ohkay" I slurred a little. I tried to hide that. "I willl do try to fine he" I said. Kicking myself mentally for slurring my words.

"Are you Okay?" Prince Maxon said squinting at my badge. "Officer Andy Anderson?"

"Yeah I'm fine bro" dang did I say that. I'm dead.

"Excuse me?" The prince said raising his eye brow.

"I mean. Your Majesty" I said. Crap. That was only for Kings and Queens.

"Let me help you." Prince said putting his hand on my shoulder. "Your..." He said slowly.

"Your..." I repeated.

"High..."

"Yes. Yes I am" I said. Why did I say that!!

The prince laughed. "I can tell. No. Repeat. High..."

"High..."

"Ness..."

"Mess... I am a mess" I said. Yup. I was dead when I became sober.

"Good" Prince Maxon said and smiled.

"Wait. Can you explain to me what your friend looked like?" I asked what's her face.

"Red hair. Blue eyes. Yay-tall" The girl said putting her hand up to her friend's height. Shoot. Crap. Oh no. I'm. Officially. D. E. A. D.

"Oops" I swallow

"What?" The royals and the girl asked simultaneously.

"I pressed the rebel button. I saw her while she was walking the halls. I thought she was a rebel. So I pulled the alarm and then ran to tackle her. I put cuffs on her and then I threw her in a safe room." I faded out at the end. I looked down and twiddled my thumbs.

"What!?" The girl asked at a ear piercing scream.

I covered my eyes and looked at the girl.

"Excuse me?" The Queen said giving me serious eyeing.

"Yes. Your highnes- I mean Majesty." I corrected myself.

"You drunk son of a bitc-"

"Mom. It's alright. I can handle it. She is Lady Kamber's guest and Kamber is in the Selection and I run the selection. I'll take care of Officer Anderson." Prince Maxon said calming his mom and looking at me.

"Fine." Queen Amberly said and faced her husband, the King.

"Let the other guards know that there is not a rebel attack and to set down their guard." Prince Maxon ordered.

I nodded and bowed.

"You. Officer Andy. Meet me in my office at 4:00 sharp."

I nodded once again.

"Ladies. Please go up to your rooms for the rest of the afternoon. I'll see you girls at dinner" Prince Maxon said and all the girls curtsied and moved up the stairs.

I went up to tell the other guards to let their guard down and that there was no rebels and I messed up.
