The Selection without America?

America's POV

After the queen arranged the pool into two pieces Lady Kriss called the left side which leaves Queen Amberly and I in the right side of the pool. I was fine with the right side it's where all the games were. The volleyball net, water guns were in the shed, and the toys were also in the shed.

"So how do you like your stay at the castle so far?" Queen Amberly asked.

"It's so lovely and nice. It's like living in a piece of artwork." I said in awe.

"I know right! That's the reaction I had as well the first time I saw the palace for myself." Queen Amberly laughed.

It was hard not to over hear Maxon and Lady Kriss's conversation because we were in the same pool with only about ten or so feet in between us.

"You want to play a game America?" Queen Amberly asked me.

"Sure why not. Which game?"

"I do like volleyball." The Queen stated.

"Okay I'll go get the ball." I smile and make my way to the stairs.

Once we got everything set up which wasn't much since the net was already up. We played one on one of course because we only had two people.

"I'll serve first!" Queen Amberly said. I handed her the ball and backed up a few feet from the net.

The thing that Queen Amberly didn't mention was that she had a wicked serve. The ball went over into Maxon and Lady Kriss's side.

"Heads up!" I yell over in their direction.

The volleyball soared through the sky and Maxon turned around right when the ball came crashing down. Right at his face. Good thing he had good reflexes and he caught it.

"Close call. Thanks America!" He smiles at me.

"No problem sorry about that!" I say and steal a quick look at the Queen. She just smiled and shrugged.

"I have an idea!!" Queen Amberly quickly said. "How about... Maxon and Lady Kriss join our little game!?"

"What?!" Lady Kriss called. "I Umm I mean yeah that sounds cool. What do you think Prince Maxon?" I could see her giving him glares almost like saying to him to say no to his mother.

"That sound so nice and I am delighted to be invited to your little game of volleyball." He smiles.

"But..." Lady Kriss says and looks straight at Maxon.

"That's all. We will join your game." He makes his way over to us and he hands me the ball.

"What are the teams?" I asked.

"I call being with Prince Maxon." Lady Kriss calls.

"That mean I'm with the amazing America Singer!" Queen Amberly laughs and comes over to my side.

We were crushing Maxon and Lady Kriss's team because Lady Kriss doesn't really like touching the ball. So that leave Maxon to do all the work.

"Hey guys can I join?" A voice from above asked.

I look up and see some selected. They were already in their bathing suits with towels around their arms.

"Sure why not?" I say and smile at them. "What team do you want to be on?" I say and I look at Lady Kriss and she looks like she's going to have a fit. I look at Maxon and he's smirking a little at Lady Kriss's reaction. Lastly I look at Queen Amberly and she is overjoyed with the idea of more people.

"We don't care. Put us where you need!" The selected girls say.

"Woah woah woah. I'm so sorry Lady Kriss but I'm not going to be on your team anymore. You don't even touch the ball." Maxon makes his way over to Queen Amberly and my side.

We separate into two groups five people on each team. My team consisted of Maxon, Lady Tiny, Lady Marlee, Lady Celeste, and me. The other team was Lady Kriss, Queen Amberly, and three other selected I didn't learn their name.

"We get the ball!!" Queen Amberly yelled from her side.

"Why do you get the ball?" I asked and held the ball tighter. I could tell the selected were confused of why I was defying the queen herself.

"Because I have them..." she nodded over to her side. She then laughed and held out her hands.

"We will do this like how they always do it. A coin toss." I say and throw the ball in Maxon's direction.

"Fine. Where's the coin?" The Queen asked.

We found a coin that a selected had. We flipped it and I called heads for my team and it landed on head.

"We'll serve first." I say and take the ball from Maxon.

Queen Amberly was giving me a playful stink eye.

"Good luck!! You will do good either way." Maxon winked at me. I saw from the corner of my eye that Lady Kriss was also giving me a stink eye, only this one was real.

In the end Team Maxon is Hot lost. We won. Team Four girls and one prince. We won 50-7 they were bad. Really bad. I felt bad for Queen Amberly Who was basically carrying the team.

"Nice job America! I never knew you were good at Volleyball." Maxon high fives me when we are drying off.

"Thanks I didn't even know I was good at it either. I'm just really competitive" I laugh and he mirrors me.

"Well anyway nice job. I'll tell you about the doctor later because I am like 110% sure at least one girl is listening to us right now." He smiles at someone behind me and I hear giggles.

"Okay just tell me when you want to talk." I say and wrap my towel around my waist.

"Now Prince Maxon can we please please go horse riding?" Lady Kriss come up behind him and rugs on his arm.

"Yeah. Sure. Of course where do you want to go?" Maxon says to her but keeps looking at me.

"The river. You know in the woods." Lady Kriss said and turned Maxon's head towards her to make him look at her.

"Okay I'll tell the stable boys to bring horses out. Meet in the barn? We both need to change." He smiles at Lady Kriss which clearly pleases her because she gets a big smile on her face.

Dinner was almost ready and Lady Marlee and I just walk around the palace and admire the view and paintings. We just talked about anything and there never seemed to be a awkward pause between us. It just felt right.
