Chapter 35
"You didn't let me protect you." It's not a question nor a statement, he made sound like it was an accusation.
Napatingin ako sakanya, "what are you talking about, Jared?"
"You know what I mean, Blair. Sinasaktan ka niya and yet hinayaan mo akong panoorin ka lang sa tabi. I feel so pathetic, so useless." Napayuko siya at hindi man lang nag-aksaya ng panahon para itago ang sakit na nararamdaman niya. He feel so shaken, parang gulat na gulat siya sa pangyayaring hinayaan ko lang siyang manood habang sinasaktan ako ni Zy.
Nagpatuloy kami sa paglalakad papuntang Principal's office. Malayo-layo ito sa cafeteria. "Things could've gotten worse kung sinaktan mo siya, Jared. I don't want that to happen. Besides, hindi kita hahayaang pumatol sa babae." Natawa siya sa sinabi ko.
"Still, dapat hinayaan mo man lang akong sirain ang mukha niya." Nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi niya.
"You didn't just say that," sabi ko.
"Course, I did. She's irritates the hell outta me."
"And you think blasting her nose job would be better?" He nodded and I look at him incredulously.
"I'm kidding, okay? Though, I can't wait kung anong punishment ang matatanggap niya kay Ms. Mcgonagall."
"Oh my God, Jared, you didn't just compare the principal to one of the witches." I laughed.
"What? She look like one back there. 'Go to my office, now.'" Napalakas ang tawa ko nung ginaya ni Jared ang sinabi ng principal namin kanina kaya napatingin sila samin. Si Zy, ang daddy niya and principal ay naglalakad sa harap ni Julie, samantalang kami ni Jared ay nasa likuran ni Julie. Pinagtaasan ako ng kilay ng principal namin at napayuko ako.
Hinawakan ni Jared ang kamay ko. "Ikaw kasi e." Natawa lang siya at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad, "tawa ka pa dyan."

"I didn't like how the two of you handled the situation," Zy's father said.
"Course you don't. Who wants to see someone going after somebody's hair?" Jared muttered sarcastically beside me.
Tila may ibang pananaw naman si Julie at nagsalita, "The bitch had it coming, though. She knew better than to hurt my bestfriend."
"Bitch," Zy said.
"Yes, yes, I know, we have that in common I guess," sabi naman ni Julie. Natawa kami ni Jared, ngayon ko lang siya nakitang ganito kapalaban.
"Is there something you want from me, Julie?"
"Yeah, you're head on a platter." I murmured to Jared. He smiled and took my hand.
Julie smiled sweetly and replied, "Maybe, it depends."
"Depends on what?" Zy's father answered.
"If that thing you call a mouth would shut the fuck up about my friends."
"Hmm, and if I don't, then what?"
