Chapter 5 - Invitation

FLASHBACK:

I kept running until i felt sand beneath my feet. The beach was not that far. I undressed myself until I was just on my bikini ( Thank God I didn't take it when I went home earlier that afternoon) and I went straight to the ocean, where the waves were calm and soft. I dove in, and a chill went down my spine, while under the water I felt myself slowly drifting away from the shore,altought the waves didn't take me far as I'd like to. Subconsciously I was trying to drown my pain,my hurt, my loneliness. I swam to the beach again, and as soon as I got out off the water, a memory of Nick came back floading and unwanted.

MEMORY:

I was in the beach with him and I had been bitten by a crab and he was like " C'mon love it doesn't hurt that much." "Yeah it doesn't hurt you because it's not you,who has been bitten by this orange and with tweezers thing!" I laughed even though, I tried to look serious. Teasing him. "Let me see,baby." He grabbed my finger playfully and kissed where it was hurting, it was like almost instant a pain killer."So, does it still hurts?" I was instantly melted by the concern and tenderness with he did that simple, yet loving action "No, it doesn't doctor!" , I responded."You're such a baby" he teased me, "But you like it Nick! Ahaha"  We laughed it off the rest of that afternoon always teasing each other.

CURRENTLY:

Surprisingly I didn't cry, I just smiled with tenderness at that moment in life where, I've never even thought I could lose him in a heart beat.

My phone rang, I looked down at the light the screen emanated and it was one of my friends, Evelyn. Evelyn was that kind of friend who has the perfect timing to call you when you're down, she was very lively, lovable, and she had the perfect face and body. She was a bit tall,pale,she was almost like the supermodels we see in the magazines, redheaded and had the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. She was 1 year older than me, she was 19 years old.

-Hey Jade! How is everything going?

- Hi, Evelyn. It's fine around here, - I lied - and therein?

- Fantastic! I will tell you all the news tonight in Snoopy's Bar, at 10 pm.

-Evelyn,I'm... - I was cut off by her,and her always present good mood-

-C'mon you can't say no, I will be waiting for you!See ya later!

-Then, see ya in the bar!

I was not in the mood to go out and party all night, but what do I lose? I don't want to stay at home tonight. I'm still hotheaded,it might be a bad time to go home. I look at phone again, check the hours and notice it's half past nine pm. 

Since Snoopy's bar is near from where I stood, I rapidly got dressed and started moving towards the bar.

IN THE BAR:

As I enter the bar I notice some guy, he looks familiar to me, and his "wingman" flirting with Evelyn, so instead of going in her direction, I start my possibly long night by sitting next to the barman, ask a Cola with ice and a bit of vodca.
