FLASHBACK:

She left the room quickly and Nick was looking at me with a weird look on his face.

- Well played mate. But she is right about me. I'm the one to blame if I had really died that day, Jade wasn't in this crappy situation - He spoke with his head down, blaming himself.

-Don't do this to yourself. It's not your fault. You didn't hit her. This mask of the victim doesn't suits you well, mate. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Be a man. She's the only victim here. We should be tracking who did this to her. - I told him, also scolding him.

-I'm going to go, I'm clearly not very welcome here. I'm going to track down the person who did this to her. If I find out something I will tell you. - He said leaving.

-Okay. - I responded to him. - Hope you didn't hear this part, love - I said, this time to Jade.

Be gentle to him. I almost could hear Jade saying to me.

CURRENTLY:

Jade has always been a compassionate person, if she saw someone in a bad situation she had to help her immediately.

I still remember living next to her house when her parents died. She didn't want to break down in front of people, instead she gave strength to her sister. She's the type of person that silently cries in the night while everyone else is asleep, but during the day everything is ok, but the nights for her were harder. I know this because my bedroom window was right in front of hers.

She was always cheerful, stubborn and incredibly smart.

There was this one time, my class went to her class to talk about some facts of the brain. A colleague of mine said "We use just 10% of our brains" and she started discussing the subject.

"You see, if only we used so little of our brain matter, hardly a head injury could leave consequences. What happens is exactly the opposite. Any small or big injury in the brain, is capable of consequences, reversible or not. This happens because we use our brain all the time, just don't use all the parts at once. I'm not saying that we use 100% of it, but we sure don't use just 10%".

She was just sixteen years old. Everyone in that room was silent, when she talked. My classmate, one of the smartest in the school, just had been "humiliated" by a sixteen year old girl. Even his friends chuckled.

That's just how smart she is.

Now she's is attached to machines. Just lying there motionless, like her life was slowly being sucked out of her.

Suddenly she moved her finger while I held her hand. Although she didn't have opened her eyes I felt like there was some hope. She was fighting for her life.

Unexpectedly the machine that records the heartbeats was a straight line. The doctors rushed in, pushed me back in a corner of the room and started doing something on her. I couldn't figure out what because there were too many people in front of me.

-What is happening? - I screamed but no one responded.

NICK'S POV:

I went to talk to Dianna outside. I had to make some emends. I came next to her.

 - I truly am sorry, it was not my intention for all this to happen. On the contrary I wanted to protect her from all this drama. It back fired me, and I'm sorry.

- You know, I understand your situation, if I was in your shoes I'd do the same thing. I overreacted back there... but too many people got hurt in this. - She honestly told me.

- So we're good?

- Yeah.

I don't know why, but I looked back at the hospital and saw doctors rushing in throught the hostipal. I had a bad feeling about this.

Jade.

-Is Jade hooked up at life support machines? - I asked anxiously.

- No, her body can function on her own. Why?

- Just had bad feeling. I'm going to check on her. - I said firmely. She stayed there.

I ran up to her hospital bedroom and saw a bunch of doctors around her trying to revive her.

- What happened Damien?

-Her heart suddenly stopped.- He whispered still in shock.

I was basically witnessing my love dying. My world was falling apart in front of me and I couldn't do nothing about it. I heard "We haven't had a signal of life for five minutes since her heart stopped beating, one more try and we'll declare it".

"Please princess, you can do this. You can fight this. Please I can't lose you again."

DAMIEN'S POV:

It has passed five minutes since the last signal of life was shown.

"Please, Jade, I know you are strong enough to fight this, they gave you one more chance, c'mon love".

I still believed her ,even though I knew, she most likely wouldn't wake up. There was still hope she would wake up. I was holding on at that little hope.

NICK'S POV:

My eyes were getting watery. I still wanted to believe that she would wake up and I knew she was a fighter, but the odds weren't in our favor.

"Wake up baby! You have beat the odds one time, you can beat this."  I hopefully thought, although I knew she probably wasn't listening.
