FLASHBACK:

- You didn't even get to know her and you don't like none of my girfriends!

- True, but I liked her. - I confessed and shrugged my shoulders and raised my hands.

He motioned to come closer and I hugged him and messed up his hair.

- Oh c'mon!- he protested smiling - This his how you make people feel better? You suck!

- I also have chocolate! - I replied showing him the chocolate bar with a grin on my face. - And it worked. You're smiling.

Damien's casket was completely inside the grave now.

The memories I had with him were both heartbreaking and comforting at the same time.

Why did he have to die? Why? Hot anger rushed throught me.

Shortly after, I noticed the funeral was over, people were giving their condolences to his family while I stood there, still staring at the spot were he was buried under.

He said he'd always be here for me. And he was. Until his last moment.

CURRENTLY:

A hand rested on my shoulder and I snapped out of my thoughts.

Nick wore a worried expression as he looked into my eyes, his plump lips parted slightly.

- Jade everyone is gone. C'mon. - he said softly.

I nodded silently, and he put a hand on my back, guiding me to the car.

He opened the door of his car for me , and I got inside.

I can't feel. I am completely numb.

As he got on the road, his fingers tapped on his steering wheel silently. His eyes were red, bloodshot. Nick cleared his throat.

- Do you... want to come to my flat? You can stay with me if you need to.

I shook my head.

- Are you sure?

I nodded I couldn't form any words.

- And you'll be okay?

I nooded once again. I wanted to be alone.

He sighed.

A few minutes passed before we broke the silence again.

- How many hours have you slept since...?

I swallowed slowly.

- Three.

He nodded and sniffled a bit.

As Nick turned onto my driveway, I unbuckled my seat belt.

I opened the car door, and got out of the car.

-If you need anything, call me. I'll will be here right away, okay? - he assured me.

I nodded, and turned to walk up to the door and unlock it.

-The last time I needed someone and called him, he ended up dead. So thanks, but no thanks. - I muttered.

As Nick drove away, I realized that no one would be here for me. I knew that I would be on my own for everything now.

I dropped my bag on the couch. The same couch we had sat together, watching movies, hugging each other and even that time we sat together while there was thunderstorms because he knew I was afraid of it.
