Show em' what you're made of<3:
Zayn's POV:
My daughter Zana told me two months ago that she wanted to be a famous little celebrity. I asked her why and told her that it wasn't that easy. She knows it. The answer I received from her was: '' You know daddy, in my heart, when you sing, a strange feeling come and I guess your heart goes more strange when you sing because everyone is looking at you and enjoying what you do. Your job is the job I want to do because I love to sing and I just can't say how much I want to have this feeling daddy''
I was without words. She described the feeling I get when I sing. Just to know how her voice was , I asked her to sing. With her cute little voice, she said " Daddy, I'm too shy to sing in front of you''. She had light pink cheeks and her smile was so pretty. " you know baby, if you can't sing in front of me, you can't in front of a billion people." She cough shyly and said "ok then. But don't laugh" I became serious and explained " even if you had the most ugly voice in the world, I wouldn't laugh because someone who is laughing at you when you want your dreams to come true is someone who ruins them. But I'll tell you the truth."
She nodded, understanding what I meant and began singing. " cause it's beautiful people like you, who get whatever they want. And it's beautiful people like you who make me cry, cause nobody else could be nearly as cruel as you ... " . She looked at me unsure and I looked at her with such a proud smile that meant everything. " How was it daddy ?" She asked so excited. " baby. It's not because I'm your dad that I say it but you have a really great voice and you can go far, just believe in yourself my love."
A year later, she asked me to have a vocal coach and I said yes immediately. When she turned 15, she was ready for her first show. I told her that I would do my show with the boys and that she would do the last song. I was already 37 and we picked a backstreet boys song as a cover 'cause it showed my feelings about my daughter.
At the show, we sang our old songs and the last song was "show 'em what you're made of" by the backstreet boys. I thought about Zana and put all my feelings in my voice.
She looked at me nervously and came on the scene. Before her performance I said in her ear: " Just show them what you're made of baby!" She sang Illusion by VnV Nation and Skinny Love (Birdy Version).
5 years later, being today, I am the most proud father in the world having an amazing girl. She's now 20 and every time I see her, she says " Daddy, you made my dream come true and I am so lucky to have such a amazing father like you. Even without a mom, you made my life being perfect."
She's today a superstar and I believe in her. She's my everything.
She has a show tonight and anxiety is with her. I go to her room 5 minutes before she begin and say " Show them what you're made of my love. I know you can do it"
"I love you dad" my Zana says.
"I love you baby" I say.
