BRUCE WAYNE WAS an odd character. Over the next few days, Skylar had talked to him some more. They were getting to know one another and Skylar had begun to feel comfortable with him. But the only thing she refused to talk about was her past. Selina had also begun to grow on her. The two had long talks at night just about how much life sucked. Turns out, they had a lot more in common than they thought. And this surprised Selina because normally, she never would befriend anyone because she didn't think anyone was worth her time. Besides Ivy of course. However, Skylar was different.

The girl was smart, Selina couldn't deny that. People would see Skylar and think that she couldn't possibly be smart or preceptive. That was a tremendous understatement. But it was good because no one would ever suspect her to be the perpetrator of a crime. Selina had realized that Skylar caught onto things awfully fast. The teen thought swiftly in any situation and was already musing attainable solutions. Not to mention that her quiet steps could easily go unheard by anyone, not even Selina heard her enter a room. Skylar truly had some talent. The only problem was that she didn't see it and that she was afraid.

Selina didn't like Bruce all that much. Honestly, it was hard to tell. One moment she was smiling with Skylar and Bruce and then the next she was storming out of the room because of something he said. This is what had happened when the three were talking. Selina went down the stairs and the other two followed close behind.

Voices came from the main floor and they stopped at the railing to see a woman with Alfred. Blood was on the side of her head, a blanket around her. "Where exactly are you hurt?" Alfred asked her.

Bruce spoke up, gaining both of their attention's. "Alfred. Is everything all right?"

Selina was eying the woman with skepticism. Skylar looked over at her and gave her a worried look. Her nerves were spiking up and it seemed like the fellow teen noticed the unusual behavior of the woman. But Alfred didn't seem to notice when he turned to them. "No, Master Bruce." He looked back at the female. "This lady's been involved in a car accident." Her eyes stayed trained on Selina. "Run. Run!"

Alfred punched the lady in the face and the three raced up the steps in a hurry. Bruce led them down one hallway but they weren't thinking, everything was happening too fast. Skylar felt her body begin to heat up. No, no, no. Closing her eyes for just a second, Skylar imagined her mom and dad soothing her, telling her it was alright. She imagined Jerome being at her side with a smile, trying to get her mind off of her rapidly beating heart. It helped her calm down.
