~Chapter 4~

"Let's go Mary! Come on! Unless you plan on carrying me because I'm not walking all the way to the concert!" Sarah looked over her shoulder at me as I tried to catch up with her. We were running through the city trying to reach the subway before the next train leaves. Traffic is hopeless so I gave up the idea of driving to the concert a long time ago.

"Nobody will be walking anywhere, I'm coming!" I shouted over the buzz of the crowded streets. I ran to catch up to her, and she decided to run the rest of the way to the subway. I had no choice but to run too.

We ran through the crowded streets of the city. When we arrived at the subway our train was already at the loading area. We ran through the crowd and jumped in. The doors closed literally within a minute from when we got on. I put one hand on the pole another on my sister to steady myself. It took me forever to catch my breath.

"I'm so excited for the concert! I can't stand still!" Sarah said bouncing up and down.

"I can tell." I put both hands on her shoulders to hold her still.

"You can't tell me you aren't the least bit excited Mary!"

"Maybe a little. It's nothing much. I've been to plenty concerts," I lied.

"Sure you have," she rolled her eyes. I rolled mine in return.

"So what was it like to meet Max? Amazing wasn't it?" She began to bounce again as she said this.

"He wasn't famous so it wasn't much. I didn't know who he was. It was nothing," I continued to lie.

"Sure it was," she rolled her eyes again. She rolls her eyes more than any other girl I know.

The rest of the train ride she just babbled on and on about the episode of How To Rock she watched last night. I tuned out most of it, and eventually found myself lost in my thoughts. I couldn't help but to think about him. If he sees me tonight, will he remember me?

"Mary, Mary?" Sarah shook me waking me from my trance.

"What?" I asked somewhat rudely.

"We're here. We need to get off the train."

"Oh. Sorry." I took her hand and we walked off the train.

"I'm so excited to see Max!" Sarah shouted over the noise.

As we walked towards the concert hall, which was just two blocks from the subway station, we passed a store blairing music. I easily recognized the tune. And the beautiful voice singing it. As soon as the song ended the radio host said, "And that was Max Schneider, 'Not Over You'."

"Speak of the devil, and he shall appear," I mumbled.

"What?" Sarah asked leaning in closer to hear.

"Nothing. Here it is." I stopped short in front of the concert hall. In lights above the doorway was written, 'Max Schneider Live'. This is what he had always wanted. His name in lights. Well, he got it.

I walked up to the man at the ticket booth. "Marissa and Sarah Addams," I said to him. Mom had ordered tickets online she said to pick them up here.

"Can I see an ID?" he asked.

I pulled my wallet out of my pocket and showed him my ID.

"Thank you, have a nice show," the man smiled and handed me the tickets. Sarah and I walked over and got into the line leading through the front doors to the concert hall.

"Gimme!" She said jumping up to grab her ticket. I used my height to my advantage and held it over her head.

"No you'll lose it."

"No I won't Mary! Give it to me!"

"What happened to my copy of 'Catching Fire'? Or how about 'Mockingjay'?" I asked her. Those were both The Hunger Games Trilogy books I let her borrow that she lost.

Seeing my point she gave up trying, crossed her arms, and frowned at me. "Fine."

Her crouchiness didn't last long. As soon as the line started to move she perked right up. She began jumping up and down like a five year old. I was gonna stop her, but I realized that is what most of the girls in line were doing, so I let her be.

I handed our tickets to an usher. She ripped the edge off of our tickets, then said, "Follow me," and led us to our seats. We had pretty good seats. They were front and center mezzanine seats. Up on the megatron behind the stage there was a flashing message. It read: "Hey Schneider-Monkeys! Text 'Max' to 5488 for a chance to win free back stage passes for your group!" I figured 'Schneider-Monkeys' is what he calls his fans. Kinda clever if you think about it. You know, Spider-Monkeys, Schneider-Monkeys. Whatever.

I looked over to Sarah. She was on her phone. I looked at it's screen. She was texting 'Max' to 5488. I thought of stopping her but I didn't. It was too late and she already sent it. What were the chances she would actually win the passes?
