~Chapter 5~
"Max! Max! Max! Max!" The crowd cheered as he finished a his last song of the concert.
"Thank you guys! So, so, much! Y'all have been an AMAZING crowd!" He flashed the crowd the true, genuine smile that I love.
"One more!" Somebody in the crowd screamed.
"One more? Eh, alright! One more! For you guys!" He walked over and grabbed his ukulele which was resting against a speaker.
"How many of you have seen my new movie 'Rags'?" He asked the crowd while tuning his ukulele. The whole crowd put there hands up, including me.
"Do y'all know the song someday?" He sat down on a stool and some guy from the tech crew set a microphone stand right in front of him.
"YES!" The crowd screamed.
"All right! Here we go!" He nodded to the band and they started to play.
"I'll follow my dreams," he began to sing. He closed his eyes loosing himself in the song.
"You'd think they were nightmares the way they scream," I found myself mouthing along the words.
"I'll make them believe! Whoo! That someday, someday, I'm gonna be the next big thing!" The crowd began to sing along. At the second chorus he held the mic out to the crowd to sing along. I sang along with the rest of the crowd. I didn't care what happened in the past. I have to get over it. And he is an amazing performer. Whether he was my friend or not, I am a fan. Doesn't matter if I like it or not.
Soon the song ended and a lady from the tec crew walked on stage and grabbed a microphone. "Excuse me ladies and gentlemen!" she called over the crowd. "It isn't over yet!" The crowd settled down and a wave of silence swept over the concert hall. "With this phone right here," she held up a phone. "I will randomly select a number and call the lucky winner of the backstage passes!" She pressed a few buttons on her phone, put it on speaker phone, held it up to the mic, and called the winner.
Sarah stared down at her phone as if the harder she stared, the better her chances were of winning. My mouth fell open in horror and shock as the phone in Sarah's hand began to ring.
"Hello?" Sarah said holding the phone up to her ear. Just then her voice echoed throughout the building.
"Congratulations! You have just won backstage passes to meet Max Schneider!" the lady replied. I heard her voice through the phone and through the speakers of the concert hall.
"OMG! OMG! OMG!" Sarah began to jump up and down, half screaming, have laughing, half crying. She was near hysterics.
"Come to the stage as you are leaving tonight. Congratulations again!" the lady told her before hanging up.
"Thank you all for coming! The exits are to your left..." the lady trailed off. I got lost in my thoughts again. I can't believe what just happened. After 4 years, I am finally seeing Max again. Will he remember me?
