~Chapter 23~
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I took the few seconds I had before I entered the room to calm myself. Just pretend it's only Max and I. Everything will go fine. I put a smile on my face as I walked into the audition room. I gave them a small wave and passed out a copy of my headshot and info to each of the casting crew.
"Tell us a little about yourself," a professional looking woman on the casting crew told me.
"Okay," I smiled and took a deep breath. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Max wink at me from were he was sitting with the casting crew.
"My name is Marissa Addams, I am 20 years old, and I was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. I am attending Juilliard School of the Arts for theatre and music. I live with my mom and my little sister in a city appartment and I have always had big dreams of being discovered for my talent."
"Okay thank you," a man who I assumed was the director said. "Schneider, Boscarino, Sage! Places!" he commanded them harshly. They all walked over the their places.
"And action!" the director man yelled. This was it. Time to act.
"Hey baby, my name's Zander. And your's?" Max said, sticking one hand in his pocket, and running the other through his hair.
"My name is Hannah, I'm new to this school," I offered him a handshake as part of the acting. He shook my hand with the one he was running through his hair. "The people here seem really nice so far. Molly and Grace gave me a tour of the school earlier." I read my lines with confidence and a friendly smile. I tried to imagine this situation how Hannah would, not how I would.
"Really? Molly and Grace?" Max gave me a questioning look, raising one eyebrow. He acted shocked and froze just then in this position.
"Yeah, they were really sweet to me," I said, then started to twirl a lock of my hair around my finger, completely oblivious to Max's shock.
"Really. Sweet?" He replied, still frozen with shock.
"Um, are you okay?" I asked him. As if just realizing he was shocked, I stopped twirling my hair and pushed it behind my ear.
"Yeah. Ok. That's what I am. Uhh... I'll be right back." After saying this he rushed off stage. Just then Samantha Boscarino who play's Molly, and Halston Sage who plays Grace, walking in from the other direction and stood behind me.
"Nice to meet you!" I called after Max, giving him a small wave.
"Hey Hannah!" Samantha said and I turned around to face her. "Um, what were you just doing?"
"I was talking to that guy over there," I gestured over my shoulder to Max. "Zander, was it?"
"We Perfs," Samantha gestured to her, Halston and I, "Don't speak to people in that loser band."
"Hey Nelson!" Halston looked over my shoulder and waved. I turned around to look. There wasn't a real actor there now but Noah Crawford who plays Nelson will be there when they film the real thing. I turned back arounf just in time to see Samantha smack Halston on the arm.
"Grace shut up!" she yelled. Halston rubbed her arm and acted in pain.
"Perfs?" I said questioningly tilting my head to the side.
"It's the abbreviation for perfect. Which we are," Samantha smiled and nodded while saying this. "So are you coming with us to the mall?" She asked me.
"Yeah, I guess," I shrugged my shoulders.
Good. More shopping," she said to me and then put a finger up to my lips as if the silence me, "Less talking." After this being said, Samantha and Halston linked arms and walked off stage. Still acting, I looked behind me dissapointedly at Max. I sighed, shook my head, and followed the girls off stage.
The casting crew, Max, Halston, and Samantha all stood up clapping.
The director walked out from ehind the table to greet me. "You did an amazing job! One of the best auditions I have seen today!" He said shaking my hand.
"Thanks, I had fun." I smiled.
"We will call you if you get the role, thanks for your time!" He replied.
"Thank you!" As I walked out the back door I passed Max.
"You did amazing," Max whispered to me.
"Thanks you too," I responded.
"Expect that call sometime soon," Max winked to me as I walked out the door. I hope I get that call. That very special, life changing call.
