~Chapter 28~
After a long few days of filming Max and I headed back to our appartment.
"This has been the longest 3 days of my life," I sighed.
"I know it must be hard for you, this being your first acting job and all," Max replied.
"I'm flying down to visit my mom tomorrow. I bought an extra ticket for you if you want to come."
"Thanks, of course I want to come! You didn't have to buy it though, I can pay for my own ticket."
"It's alright. I have the money for it now," I told him. "You said you were at the post office earlier. Anything for me?"
"Yeah from your mom," Max said handing me a large orange envelope. I tore open the envelope and pulled out a letter. I instantly recognized my mom's handwriting.
'Dear Mary, I am so proud of you and all you have done. Sarah brags about you to all her friends, I guess that's her way of saying she's proud to. And that was such a wonderful thing you did for that old couple on the plane. I bet you're having lots of fun, but be sure to not let the spotlight go to your head. I love you and I hope you visit soon! ~Mom' is what the letter said.
How did she know about the old couple on the plane. I didn't tell anybody about that. I noticed there was something else in the big envelope. I held it upside down and a copy of Popstar Magazine slid out. On the cover was a picture of Max and I. There was a caption under it that said, 'Find out about their seat swap on pg. 35'. That's how my mom found out about the plane ride.
I tapped Max on the shoulder, causing him to look up from his mail. I handed him the magazine. He read the thing on the cover and flipped to the page. There were a couple pictures of us and the old couple, their faces were blurred out though. There was one of us sitting there and them in the isle. Then one of them in the seats and us in the isle. There was also one of me and the lady shaking hands. There was also an article about the seat switch. Apparently we didn't ditch all of the paparazzi.
"So what is this? The fifth magazine we have been in together? And yet Chris didn't know we are dating?" Max said.
"Really, that's what's going through your head right now?" I asked him.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes.
"So what do you want to do tonight?" Max asked changing the topic.
"Um I don't know how about we-" I started talking but I was cut off when my phone buzzed. I looked down to check the message. It was Lulu. It said that the cast is going out to dinner tonight to celebrate finishing the first episode of the season. She told me to pass on the message. I forwarded it to Halston and turned to Max. "Looks like we are going out to dinner," I said.
"What time?" He asked. I looked down at my watch.
"7:00. That's in a half hour. We should get going."
"Okay, what's the restaurant?"
I showed him the address and we went down to the parking lot and hopped in Max's car. Here in L.A. Max has his own car and is allowed to drive himself places. Anywhere else neither of us are aloud to drive. It is one of the downsides of driving. Max has a bright yellow Challenger Convertable. I am not that into cars but I had to admit it was a pretty nice ride.
When we pulled up to the restaraunt I looked up and studied it. It didn't look too fancy, and I was glad about that. I was wearing a casual outfit. Lulu meeted us as soon as we walked in. She led us to a table where the rest of the cast, including Sam, were seated. Me and Max followed behind her, walking hand in hand.
