~Chapter 7~
The whole ride home I was as happy and perky as Sarah normally is. I literally skipped all the way home to our appartment. I skipped in the door when we got home as well. He remembered me!
"What's up with her?" Mom asked Sarah pointing to me. "I expected that from you not your sister!"
"She got to see her boyfriend!" Sarah teased. Mom raised an eyebrow giving me a questioning face. It was similar to the one Max gave me earllier.
I laughed and Mom raised the other eyebrow as well. "He's not my boyfriend! He's my best friend!" I kicked off my shoes and said to Mom. Mom still gave me a questioning look not sure who I was talking about.
"Max you dumbo!" I playfully threw a pillow at my mom and teased her.
"I thought I didn't pay for backstage passes," Mom told us. She gave me a look that meant we would talk about it when Sarah went to bed.
"I won them Mama!" Sarah chimed.
"Wow baby girl. That's great. It's time for you to go to bed though," My mom said.
"Aww, but I'm not tired!" Sarah argued.
"Then lie in bed awake. Mary Cristine can you take her to bed?" Mom replied to Sarah then asked me.
"Yeah sure. C'mon Sarah!" I began to walk towards her room.
"Fine!" She ran past me and into her room to get ready to sleep. I sat on her bed and waited for her. When Sarah came out she plopped down on her bed and turned on the T.V. Before I knew it Max was up on the screen. She was watching another episode of How To Rock. Normally I'd tell her to shut it off, but the sight of Max's face just made me smile.
"Goodnight Sarah!" I said and kissed her on the forehead.
"Goodnight Mrs. Schneider!" She laughed. I gave her the death glare and she laughed harder.
"Goodnight," I said sarcastically then left and shut the door behind me.
I sat down across from my mom at the kitchen table. "Talk to me," she said.
"Well, Max recognized me instantly. He appologized for not being there for me these past years. And he told me he couldn't wait to see me again," I couldn't help but smiling as I told her this.
"I'm happy for you. I knew he'd show up sooner or later," my mom winked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"I wasn't too sure about that," I sighed.
"So when are you gonna see him again? Did he give you his number?"
"No."
"Well, how are you gonna see him again?"
"I-I- don't know." With this being said I got up and grabbed my poster off the counter. Before heading to my room I said, "Goodnight Mom."
"Goodnight Mary," she replied.
When I got to my room I got changed, brushed my teeth, and hopped into bed. How would I contact Max? When will I see him again?
When I was settled and comfy I pulled the rubber band off of the poster and began to unroll it. The same thought kept going through my mind. How would I contact Max? I read the message that was scribbled on the poster.
Mary Christine Addams,
I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all these years. Biggest mistake I have ever made. We need to hang sometime.
Yours Truly,
Your Best Friend No Matter What,
Max
P.S. Call me!
Below the P.S. his phone number was written. I smiled. That's how I would contact him!
