~Chapter 21~

"Do you have your toothbrush?" My mom asked while rushing around the house grabbing things from here and there then putting them in my purse.

"Yes Mom." I replied with a roll of my eyes.

"Do you have five days worth of clean socks?"

"Yes."

"What about your medication did you pack that?"

"Yes! It's only Advil I can pick it up anywhere! Don't you think you are a little over thinking this Mom? I'm going away for a week, I'll be back soon."

"Oh baby, I am so proud of you! Have fun at the Kid's Choice Awards. And good luck at the audition!" Mom called to me after I hugged her goodbye and was out the door. Max invited me to come to the Kid's Choice Awards with him. He says since I will already be in town that week there's no reason can't come with him. I went dress shopping with my mom and got the perfect dress for the KCA's.

"Thanks Mom, I will!" I replied.

"You packed the dress right?"

"Yes Mom!" I couldn't help but laughing as I walked down to the city streets. My mom made it seem as if I was going off to another country instead of another state. I mean really, I'm going to Hollywood not Hong Kong. I searched around for Max. He said he would meet me outside my appartment building. All of the sudden someone grabbed me from behind and I let out a small scream.

"Shh, Mary it's just me," Max laughed turning me around to face him.

"You scared the heck out of me!" I playfully punched him in the arm.

"You were supposed to meet me here anyways so why couldn't you just have guessed it was me? Instead you're drawing attention to us!"

"Well sorry that I'm half asleep right now! Its-" I paused and looked down at my watch, "6:45, why do we have to wake up so early?"

"What you meant to ask is why does our flight have to be so early. And the answer is 'I don't know'.

"Well if we're gonna catch that flight we better get going? Did you call a cab?" I asked.

"No, my driver will take us to Laguardia Airport," just as he said this a black cab pulled up and a man in a fancy suit stepped out and opened the door.

"Mr. Schneider," the man said politely gesturing to the car.

"C'mon Mary," Max called to me climbing into the car throwing his suitcase in the trunk. I did the same and the man closed the door behing us.

"Thanks so much for taking me with you to the KCA's!" I thanked him with a big hug as the car started to move.

"No problem. But you should be more excited about the audition then the KCA's Mary," Max told me.

"I know. I'm so nervous about it. I mean it's not just infront of you, it's a panel of of producers, Halston Sage, Samantha Boscarino, and you!"

"Their no different then anyone else."

"Yeah but their people! And I'm not used to performing in front of people!"

"Then get used to it. If you want this role your gonna have to learn to ignore the audience. Pretend it is just you and me at the audition. You'll do fine," he assured me.

I leaned in closer to him. "You promise?" I asked.

"I promise," he replied moving in closer. Our faces were inches away when suddenly the car jerked and we were pushed into each other. Our lips met and we kissed. It felt truly magical. Then the driver opened the door and I was brought back to reality as Max jerked away.

"We are here sir," the man said then got our bags out of the trunk.

As I hopped out I felt myself pout. I tried to hide it but Max saw it before I could. I didn't like being interrupted.

"Someone's grumpy," Max laughed kissing me on the forehead. He grabbed my hand and thanked the driver. Her then looked down at his watch. "Oh God! We've got a plane to catch!" He picked my up and threw me over his shoulder and grabbed my suitcase as well as his bag then began to hurry in the direction of our terminal.

"Max what are you doing? I can walk myself!" I asked as he dodged people.

"No offense Mary but you are the slowest runner I have ever met!" I felt his body shake as he laughed.

"Whatever," I rolled my eyes.

"I know you just rolled your eyes," he commented. He couldn't see me since I was over his shoulder ye he knew that. He knows me too well.

I kicked him in the chest, because that was the thing closest to my feet since I was slung over his shoulder, and said "Giddy up horsey!" then we both laughed.
