“Ano bang problema mo?”

Napalingon ako kay Cassidy sa passenger’s seat. I just pulled my car on the school’s parking lot and it was the first time she talked since we finished eating in Jollibee.

“Bigla- bigla ka na lang hindi nagsasalita,” Aniya, “Am I making you bored?” She asked seriously making my back stiff.

“Of course not!” I replied, amused and nervous. I was starting to master some of Cassi’s facial expressions. She was looking at me straight- faced and it only meant one thing. Danger. Iniwas ko ang tingin sa kanya at frustrated na naihilamos ang mga palad sa mukha. I heaved a deep breath before looking back at her.

“I’m sorry. Alam kong naiinis ka na naman sa akin—”

“Hindi ako sanay na hindi ka nagsasalita.” She cut me off and my jaw dropped. Tumingin siya sa labas ng bintana. “Sanay akong magdaldal ka… at nagyayabang.”

Naubo ako sa narinig. Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ba ako o mahihiya sa sinabi ng dyosa ko.I tried to compose myself and cleared my throat. Was that the reason why she can easily smile to Kross because he was exactly my opposite? Tahimik at humble, ‘yon ba ang gusto ni Cassidy sa isang lalaki?

“Hindi ko gusto ‘yong inakto mo kanina.” Sabi pa ni Cassi na ikinalingon ko sa kanya. Agad akong sinipa ng kaba. Ito na nga bang sinasabi ko!

“Turned off ka na sa akin?” I asked, worried.

“Matagal na akong turned off sa’yo.” She glared at me. Shoot! Hindi biro ang kirot na naramdaman ko sa sinabi niya. Weird but I felt the side of my eyes sting.

“S- Sorry na, dyosa ko.” I helplessly begged.

“Kaibigan mo si Kross.” She stressed.

“And he’s my most favorite friend. But right now I’m so pissed off because he’s making me jealous!” Madiin kong saad na ikinaawang ng mga labi ni Cassi. She huffed incredulously later on.

“Your saying ridiculous things, Kalidasa.” Natawa siya ng mapait, “I smiled at him because I’m trying to be nice because once and for all he’s your friend.”

“Bihira mo akong ngitian.” I argued like a child.

“Because I know that you can deal with the way my mood changes.” She shot back ang I was stoned. God knows how willing I am to deal with her moodswings and I just can’t believe that she was acknowledging it. I blinked as I woke up from my reverie when she slung her backpack on her right shoulder, preparing to open the door.
