A/N: next to all my results are in, only some Japanese left. I've done pretty well overall, I must say. The biggest shock was English - I got 84%! I was gobsmacked, I had been expecting to either fail or scrape a pass...

*two months later*

(Sophie's POV)

The American YouTubers were visitng again, this time with a hotel to stay in. We had left the furniture shopping until now, as Gemma had just got rid of her cast last week, and they had insisted on paying at least a tenth of the price.

I had thought we should get a dark leather colour, to blend in with the very modern downstairs.

"Can we go shopping, now?" Gemma asked, already impatient.

I nodded and we hit the nearby shops. There was a huge furniture store which looked very expensive, but we decided to have a peek inside anyway.

"Look at them!" I said excitedly, pointing at some very dark brown, almost black, squashy leather armchairs.

"Look at them, indeed..." A voice drawled behind us.

I froze and turned to see my worst nightmare.

A/N: I would leave it here, but then the chapter would be short... Muahahaha.... Anyway, hope you like this so far, I'm really, really tired. How unfair is it that I had to get up at half six both days of this weekend? Very unfair...

(Gemma's POV)

"Oliver," I said icily.

"Long time, no see," Oliver said slowly. "Anything... Major happen?"

He took a step towards me and my knives flashed out, pointing at his heart.

"If you take one more step towards me, I will kill you," I warned.

Oliver laughed menacingly. "There's nothing you can do, sweetheart. While you've been busy here, have you ever considered what has happened to your little... Friends?"

A quick glance showed me that all the Americans (and one Australian) were safely behind me. I looked, confused, at him.

"Not those friends... A few others, staying around here?"

My blood ran cold. He knew. He knew I had made friends with all those YouTubers, that Dan and I were dating... He knew.

And I was powerless to save them.

A click of high heels and stomping of boots trampled across the floor.

Rose and several large, tattooed men held several of our dear friends. They had broken into their homes and dragged them here.

Dan, Phil, Marcus, Alfie, Caspar, Gaby and Jenny were all being held down by these people. Alfie and Gaby were unconscious, Caspar seemed highly out of it. I could only hope they were okay.

I took a quick look. Marcus, Dan and Phil had some cuts and bruises. It was obvious they had resisted strongly, but couldn't move an inch in the vice grip the men had in them.

Alfie and Gaby looked reasonably unharmed apart from being unconscious, as did Caspar.

Rose had hold of Jenny, and she was furiously fighting her, wriggling and kicking at her shins. It wasn't working, but you had to give it to her for persistence.

"Let them go," I ordered. Oliver just laughed. Sophie stood next to me.

"Let them go, now," Sophie snapped.

Oliver shook his head, smirking. "What's in it for us? Of course, maybe we could agree something together."

"Never."

"You sure?" Oliver said. He drew a small knife from his pocket and pressed it to Caspars throat. "Do you want to re-think that?"

To my horror, everyone had knives at their throats. I paused, trying to think. There was no way I could get out of this with everyone alive.

"Let them go... Take me instead," I surrendered, lowering my knives slightly.

Oliver beamed. "Brilliant."

Sophie looked at me in horror. "No!"

I smiled gently. Sophie shook her head. "No, don't, I'll go!"

"Alright... Both of you. You or them, your decision," Oliver smiled evilly.

"I'll go, but you are most certainly not," I told Sophie.

"Bullsh*t," Sophie cried. "I could never let you go with him when I stand here."

"Make your decision quickly, girlies," Oliver crooned. We turned to see small red lines had appeared on everyone's throats. The people who were fully concious had their faces screwed up in pain.

"We'll go."

All our friends shook their heads at us, looking madly pleading. I smiled at them and dropped my knives to the ground.

Two men grabbed Sophie and I, but we didn't resist. True to their word, they let our friends go.

"Gemma, Sophie, no!" Dan pleaded.

"Don't make this any harder," I whispered. "I - I love you, Dan."

"Love you, too," Dan whispered, a heart broken expression in his face.

The men roughly dragged us to a black van. How cliché. I could hear Dan and our other friends trying to plead with the men, trying desperately to get us back for anything. Money, and a lot of it, was offered, but they were just met with head shakes and taunting laughter.

We, Sophie and I, had been through a lot if sh*t, but this was probably the worst case scenario we had ever been in.

They threw us into the back, in an actual metal cage. I caught one, last glimpse of my friends. Sophie and I both saluted them, then the door was slammed shut, leaving us in almost pitch black.

I sought out her hand in the dark and grasped it tightly. She squeezed my hand back, and I drifted off to sleep.

******a few hours later********

(Sophie's POV)

Nothing was much worse than this. Nothing.

We had been stabbed, nearly killed men, I had DIED for f*cks sake, but I really didn't see the way out of this.

These... Devils, were evil. Evil with a capital E.

I had no idea if we would be murdered, raped, sold or what.

All I knew was that we were in deep, deep sh*t.

My only hope was that we were together. If we were separated, I didn't think I could live with no knowledge of Gemma's well being.

"I wish we had our knives... We would stand a chance, then," Gemma whispered, her voice broken.

I smiled gently at her and clasped her other hand. "We have each other," I said.

I continued to smile until I remembered... Something.

"Gemma..." I said slowly.

"Hmmm?" She muttered, sadly.

I leaned in to whisper as quietly as I could in her ear, incase we were being overheard.

"I think," I started. "These people have forgotten something very, very important."

Confusion filled her face for a total of three seconds before Gemma slowly grinned.

"I think they have," Gemma said.

A/N: a bit of a cliffhanger, oh well. I really don't think this is up to my normal standard, but I was really tired and some real life cr*p has been ever-present. I'm hoping to get another chapter up soon, as I'm writing more frequently now the exams are over and I have all my results in (I DIDNT FAIL ANYTHING :D )
