Chapter 27

A/N: I've spared a bit of time to start writing this, but I seriously need to revise for my Latin test, like, desperately. Whew.

(Sophie's POV)

We started to slide into the water. Because Gemma couldn't walk, Dan picked her legs up and carried her to the edge of the boat.

Phil and I helped him sit with Gemma and then shoved them gently so the impact of landing in the water wouldn't affect Gemma's leg.

I turned once they were safely in the water and held Phil's hand.

"On the count of three," I told him.

"One... Two.... Three!"

We both jumped and I quickly turned my tanks on so the oxygen started to flow through my mask.

We stayed as a group and headed towards the sea bed.

We had been taken far out to sea in a boat so we could scuba dive freely. Of course, we were still within the boundaries of the net that kept things like sharks and whales out of the water this side. I didn't fancy being eaten.

(Gemma's POV)

Dan kicked slowly. Being slightly taller meant that he didn't knock against my ankle.

We drifted past small fish. I giggled, making lots of bubbles rise from my mask, causing me to giggle even harder.

Dan swam after our friends. We had decided to stay in a group so no one was on their own, just incase something bad happened. We had split into pairs so we concentrated on one person, but stayed in relatively the same area.

I felt a tug on my arm. It was Sophie and Phil. They motioned for us to follow them, so Dan swam quickly after them.

They had found some huge, beautiful coral and other plants and rocks on the sea bed, with lots of fish swimming around it. I was extremely glad that Sophie had thought to buy water proof cameras just before we went scuba diving. They were expensive, so we only got one and one video camera.

I took a selfie with the fish and Dan had no option but to join me. Phil was filming Sophie pointing out the different things and signing what she wanted to say so she would edit in the words at the bottom of the screen later.

I caught Malfie swimming slightly off from the group and took a picture when they started to play-fight. They were too cute together.

I pointed them out to Dan and he subtly followed them. They had discovered a cave in the rocks that made up the cliffs. They went exploring inside as it wasn't too far away.

We followed them. Out of safety purposes, of course, we weren't nosy or anything.

As we saw inside, Dan placed a finger to my lips. I nodded.

They had their backs to us and were examining the inside of the cave. It was too dark to see far, but all the plants made it very pretty.

Dan swam very close to them, but they still didn't notice them. I leaned slightly to the left so I was behind Alfie, whereas Dan leaned to the right so he was behind Marcus.

I held up three fingers and counted down.

As I put my last finger down, we dived on them, wrapping them in huge hugs.

They jumped a mile and screamed.

It was muffled by the fact we were underwater but we still knew they screamed.
