He's The Man

~Jordans POV~

I stop at a red light and blow out a low breath, could nine o'clock come any slower?

I take a swig from my Arizona tea and sigh, tonight is going to be a good night.

It had to be.

I change the station on the radio and clear my throat as I near her house. Was I...nervous? No. I couldn't be. Maybe its anger? The thought of being around her had my heart racing with...hate. Thats it, hate.

After texting her and asking if she was busy earlier we had kept a conversation going on until now. Shes been telling me random things about herself but I've refused to tell her anything about me.

I always answer her questions with a question or eased my way out of the question without her noticing. I flip. out my phone and check her adress one more time before finally pulling up in front of a good sized two story house.

I send her a quick message saying Im outside before rolling down my window to get some fresh air. I lean back in my seat and close my eyes, any minute now and she'd be here in my car.

Just me and her...alone....

"Hi." Her quiet voice makes me jump and I sit up quickly. "Did I scare you?" Right on the dot. She giggles and holds her hand over her mouth. I shake my head with a somewhat irritated smile. "No...you just-you just suprised me." She side smiles and slips her seat belt on. "Well good. So, where are we off to tonight?"

I put the car in drive and turn down the music, girls love it when they think they have your full attention. "Swansens lake, its kinda like a party slash bonfire thingy."

"Awesome" She states.

I look at her from the corner of my eye, play your cards right, Jordan. Its now or never, even if you don't want too.

I clear my throat again and sit up straight. "So um-how has your day been?"

Leila beams and pushes some of her long brown hair behind her ear. "My day was pretty great actually."

I can't help but smile at the enthusiasm in her voice. "Yeah, why's that?" I grip the steering wheel tighter and she shakes her head with a silent laugh. "Well today me and Ramona were-" I raise an eyebrow and interject. "That ginger thats always hanging around you?"

She gasps at me. "Ramona's not a ginger! She's a strawberry-blonde And she happens to be my bestfriend."

I chuckle and raise my hands up in surrender. "Okay! So that 'strawberry blonde' thats always with you?"

She smiles in satisfaction. "Yes. But as I was saying, we were going through my old stuff from middle school..." She continues telling me random stories about her day, I can't help but laugh or smile at the things she says, she really knows how to make you laugh and keep a conversation going.

I shake my head still holding onto my smile. "So what about you?" I shrug. "My day was good." Leila tilts her head and stares at me. "Define good?"

I shift uncomfortably. "I had a good day, that's it."

She smiles at me. "Why just good?" I side smile back at her. "Why not?"

She giggles then retorts. "Why not great?"

I frown and think of something fast. "Because....because I haven't eaten anything all day."

She laughs as I make a sharp turn into the nearest diner. "This place is amazing!" Leila grins, I watch as far off look slowly takes over her face. "I know." She mumbles almost incoherently.

I pull into a spot and turn to look at her. "You've been here before?"

She tenses up and bites her lip, looking cute and deep in thought. "My mom and I, we come here all the time."

I smile and give her a shrug. "No big deal, Leila. Where would you like to go?"

She quickly shakes her head and unclasps her seat belt. "No, this is perfect." She catches sight of my questioning smile. "It really is, come on."

She opens her door and steps out.

That in itself shocks me. She didn't want me to open the door for her? Some girls won't even get out unless I do it. I chuckle and grab my wallet from the glove compartment.

"You are somethin else, Grizzel." I mumble before following suit.

I trail behind her and follow her to an empty booth. I sit down and immediately picked up my menu.

I steal a glance at her as she inspects the menu herself. Something about her fascinates me. She's interesting and is probably the only girl that hasn't tried to jump my bones before we even make it to our destination. If it weren't for this bet and the circumstances were different, I might have actually talked to her.

I frown remembering the fact that her last name is Grizzel. I had to keep reminding myself that this was SEANS sister. The guy you hate for ruining your life. As I watch her, I study her features. She looks so much like her brother, which is a given since they're identical twins. She bites her lip while she focuses on the menus, oblivious to my watchful eyes.

I say nothing but can suddenly feel her watching me. "Know what you want already?" I ask, refusing to look up and meet her gaze.

Leila shakes her head and tentatively asks. "Are you ok?" I stare at her for a minute before answering. "Yeah. Im fine. I just-have a lot on my mind."

Like the fact that this is all part of a game and I'm on a 'date' with the sister of the guy who fucked my girlfriend.

She nods and picks up her own menu. "Mm, I bet."

I chuckle nervously, How funny that she would mention that.
