Hes The Man -Part 34-

~Leilas POV~

I woke up to darkness.

My mind felt groggy and my eyelids seemed to weigh a thousand pounds each.

I abruptly sat up but quickly layed back down when I realized quick movements brought on a pounding headache. I squirmed around uncomfortably trying to gather my thoughts.

Where was I? How did I get here? What time was it? I took a shaky breath and squinted through the darkness.

I couldnt see anything but could feel a constant draft blowing on me from above, there was no light except a thin line seeping in from under what I assumed to be a door on the very other side of the room I was in.

Panic quickly started to fill me and my eyes began to sting with tears, I couldn't remember anything and didn't know where I was or how Id gotten here.

"Hello?!!" I screamed into the blackness. "Somebody help me!!!"

I waited with baited breath only to receive silence in return. My chest quickly began rising and falling faster and faster as blood quickly rushed to my head.

Though I couldn't see I felt dizzy, my stomache was empty but churned restlessly. I didnt know what was happening but something in my gut told me it wasnt good.

I needed to get out.

~Jordans POV~

I smirked as I shoved Brad into a locker with more force than neccassary.

"Watch yourself DeVall!" He choked out in between laughs.

We were in the locker rooms getting ready for lacrosse practice, school was over for the day but we still had an hour and a half until we could go home.

Trent strode up to us with a look of disapproval.

"If coach finds you guys messing around like that you'll both be benched for 15 minutes of tomorrows game!"

Brad tried to stand up but was still clutching his stomach trying to supress his laughter.

"Tell me more Dad!!" I shouted putting emphasis on 'dad' as I threw my lacrosse stick his way.

He quickly dodged it and shot me a glare. "Pull a stunt like that again and see if I dont whoop your ass-"

I rolled my eyes at his serious tone and stood up. "You do realize how gay you just sounded."

His glare hardend, he was about to open his mouth to speak when Brad popped up next to me, slapping his hand on my shoulder he chuckled. "Lighten up Trent. Its not like Coach would bench his three best players!"

Trent shook his head, his glare fading into a side smile he was trying to fight. "I guess you're right." Trent opened his water bottle. "But in that case-" He quickly jerked his arm forward, his icey cold water spilling all over me and my shirt.

I gasped feeling shocked, I looked up at him to see him shaking like an idiot. He was laughing so hard that no sound escaped, Brad was bent over again laughing too. I shook my now wet hair out and chuckled.

No point in being mad, it was just water.

"You're gonna regret that later."

He wiped a tear from his eye and began laughing again at seeing my soaked shirt. "What are you gonna do about it?"

I took my shirt off and threw it on the ground with a slopping splat. I walked towards my gym bag to grab a new one, turning my bare back to them.

"You'll see during practice."

Right then the coach walked in and shouted,"If you guys decide to grace us with your presence!!" We all froze and turned to look him,"Do you idiots like to keep your team waiting?!"

We all shook our heads, not daring to talk back and risk being benched for one of the most important games of the season.

"Well get out there! You're already-" He paused to look down at his wrist watch-"Seven minutes late! GO!!" He yelled.

I quickly went back to my locker as Brad and Trent scrambled out to the field,"Lets go DeVall!!"

I nodded and yelled back,"I just need to change!"

I slipped into a new shirt and grabbed my lacrosse stick before hesitating. I sighed and ran my fingers threw my wet hair, if I did this there was a huge risk at being caught.

I'd swallowed my pride earlier and asked her because I couldn't risk missing more practice but being around the guys made me realize that what I'd done was stupid.

Almost pathetic.

I thought about blowing her off and just going to practice but thought about it, if I didnt show up then Kendall would be left home alone.

I growled feeling stuck and quickly reached into my gym bag, grabbing what she was waiting for.

I looked around the locker room quickly making sure it was empty before going out the back door and behind the building.

Just like planned she was waiting there looking anxious. When she spotted me she stood up straight and said,"I thought you weren't gonna come, I was about to leave."

I shook my head and looked around again, double checking that no one was watching.

I walked towards her and held out my hand.

"The bus drops Kendall off at 3:15, don't be late."

She nodded and held her hand palm-side up.

"I wont be."

I sighed and hesitantly dropped the key to my house in her hand. If she didn't watch Ken for me then I'd be forced to miss practice, which I couldnt afford to do right now.

She smiled at me reassuringly before turning to walk away. I reached out and grabbed her arm.

"Hey Ramona-"

She stopped and looked at me questioningly.

"What?"

I looked behind me quickly then back.

"You cant tell anybody about this.."

She nodded and rolled her eyes dramatically.

"I remember. Ill see you after practice."

I nodded sternly before jogging back inside.
