Hes The Man -Part 30-
~Leilas POV~
I sat in the passenger seat of Damons car feeling numb.
The cold tingles slowly filled my body as I bit my lip afraid of the tears that might fall.
"Im sorry you had to see that Leila.."
I quickly shook my head feeling overwhelmed with guilt.
"No Damon, I'm the one that should be apologizing - I should of warned you that Jordans a-"
"Physco?" Damon interrupted with a chuckle.
I laughed nervously. "Well I was going to say overprotective..Hes means well."
Damon scoffed and gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Yeah, it sure seemed like it."He mumbled sarcasticly.
I pursed my lips feeling a terrible ache in the pit of my stomache, small invisible strings of pain pulled on my heart like a broken harp.
I knew how much Jordan cared about me; he had just laid all his feelings out on the table and I still walked away from him.
I shook my head and ran a shaky hand through my hair. "Hey im sorry. This night is supposed to be stress free...and so far its been far from it."
Damon pulled up at a red light and looked at me with a small smile. "Ive failed epically so far."
I shook my head no and tried to smile too.
"No you havent-Its just been a...rocky start to say the least." I teased trying to rid the gray mood.
Damon shot me a grin and held up his hands,"Hey in my defense, I did get you flowers. They were just dropped, stepped on, and completely destroyed when Jordan attacked me!"
I tried my best to ignore the mention of Jordans name and kept smiling. "Well the flowers were a nice gesture-"
He nodded looking proud,"That is of course before they were...Dropped, stepped on, and completely destroyed."
He groaned playfully as I continued to tease him. "You're never going to let me live that down huh?" He asked with a bright smile.
I shook my head with a giggle.
"Nope."
He nodded slowly keeping his eyes on the road but held a sneaky smirk. "That just means on our next date I'll have to get you a bouquet twice as big, and make sure the flowers aren't ruined before you recieve them."
I looked at my hands when he mentioned the word date.
It kind of felt wrong considering what had just happend. I ground my teeth and turned up the radio desperately trying to block out the thoughts of Jordan that were trying to snake back into my mind.
Tonight was going to be stress free just like Damon planned.
