Hes The Man -Part 13-
~Jordans POV~
I reached in the backseat of my car, aimslessly patting the ground trying to locate my phone.
"Gotcha" I mumbled as I sat up and held down the power button until it vibrated and flashed on.
I raised my eyebrows and chuckled,"Four missed calls and twelve unread messages."
In what, a matter of six hours?
I clicked on the calls first and saw it was a mix from my mom and Brad. I ignored those and went to the messages, scrolling through the many goodnight/goodmorning texts from girls I had, had flings with.
That was all in the past now.
I sighed and clicked on the one from Trent: Jay where you at? You get it in last night or what?
I glared at the screen before clicking next.
This one was from Brad: DeVall is it true? You took little Grizzels V-card last night?!
I threw my phone on the passenger seat of my car before leaning back and closing my eyes with a loud sigh, why did I ever agree to this?
It was a stupid plan from the beginning and I was just-right then my phone began to ring.
The starred at it for a moment before finally deciding to answer it,"Hello?"
My moms tired voice filled the line instantly,"Jordan?! Where have you been I was worried sick!"
I rolled my eyes, already knowing that she wanted something from me, probably money.
"Im fine mom, I was just out with some friends-"
She quickly interrupted me again with a hurried tone,"Jordan do you think I can borrow eighty dollars, just until tomorrow?"
I cocked my head backwards,"Wait what?"
She sighed before adding,"Its for rent Jay, I had the money but Kendalls babysitter demanded a raise or else she was guna quit, I need her right now."
I groaned and rubbed my eyes,"What would make you think I have that kind of money? I dont even have a job Mom!"
She was quiet and the line fell silent.
Finally she sputtered,"Well if Ken's babysitter quits, that means youll have to watch her everyday after school until I get home from work-"
I stood up and quickly shouted,"Mom!! I have lacrosse after school! I cant watch Kendall-"
"Well thats our only choice Jay! We dont have the money and unless you want Kendall staying home alone for six hours until I come home, thats whats gonna have to happen. Im sorry Jay."
I glared at the sidewalk, I Needed lacrosse. That was the only chance of me getting out of here. I needed a scholarship for college, but just like everything else, I could already see it vanishing before my eyes.
Trent and Brad had it so easy, their dads were Lawyers or Doctors while mine was a dead beat.
There had to be some other way. I ran my fingers through my hair and looked over at my passenger seat.
Wait...there might be another way.
Leila.
I thought quickly and pinched the bridge of my nose,"Ill see you at home Jay-"
I quickly cleared my throat and stopped her,"Wait mom! Ummm...I think- I think I can figure something out."
Leilas innocent face popped into my head and I closed my eyes, trying to rid the image.
I was starting to care about her but this was My future on the line,"Just give me until tonight. Ill have the money."
With that I hung up and quickly dialed Trents number. He answered after the second ring with a lazy,"Hello?"
I nervously cleared my throat again before stuttering,"Hey...Uh hey man. You busy?"
He chuckled,"No im just hanging out-"
"Well good. Call Brad and lets all meet up at your house"
I heard the confusion in his voice when he asked,"Alright, but whats wrong? Something happen?"
I rubbed the back of my neck nervously and tried to even out my voice,"Well...lets just say that last night...last night was a success."
He bursted out laughing,"No way dude! Dont tell me you slept with Leila?!"
I squeezed my eyes closed and nodded my head, trying to sound cool about it,"Hey lets just meet up at your house, and ill tell you guys what happend."
Trent was trying to conceal his laughter when he said,"Alright-Alright. But hey actually meet me at Marvins. Im hungry as hell."
I quietly sighed before taking a deep breath,"Ok...Marvins."
Trent laughed again before saying,"See you there in twenty."
I nodded and quickly thought back to the bet,"Oh and Trent!?"
He paused and asked,"Yeah Man?"
I frowned but made my voice cocky and stated,"Tell Brad to bring his Checkbook." Before hanging up.
I hated what I was doing to Leila. But...she wouldnt ever know right?
I could tell the guys I slept with her even if it wasnt true. They'd pay me and I could help my mom out, that way I didnt have to quit lacrosse, I still got my scholorship and Leila.
I pulled out of the driveway and started heading towards Marvins, I hated what was happening but now that it was, there was no avoiding it. I drove to the small breakfast, lunch, and dinner Diner and pulled into the parking lot.
I called Trent to let him know I was here,"Hey, im outside."
He chuckled,"Come in, me and Brad already have a table."
"Alright"
I quickly walked in and spotted them almost immediately. "Whats up?" Trent asked as I slid into the booth.
I shrugged,"Same old, same old"
Brad laughed, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow he let out a chuckle. "Apparently. Getting it in on the first date is nothing new if you're Jordan DeVall"
Trent burst out laughing,"Yeah dude. I didnt take Leila Grizzel as the easy type but hey, the quiet ones are always the freaks right?"
He winked and I nervously laughed with him. We chatted about the bet, girls, and last night-the details were slightly altered.
Brad was taking a sip of his coke when he raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Well I'll be damned."
I eyed him curiously as the little -Ding Ding- of the diners door bell tinkled, meaning someone had just come in.
"What?" I asked.
He was trying not to laugh as he shook his head disapprovingly.
"Speak of the devil." Trent stated.
I slowly turned around.
"Idiots." I mumbled.
My mouth fell open and my heart momentarily stopped when I made perfect eye contact with Leila.
