Hes The Man -Part 16-
~Jordans POV~
I anxiously waited for Leila.
The bell was about to ring signaling the beginning of class, we had spanish together but she was still no where to be found.
I wanted to get to her before the guys did.
Much to my growing dislike, Damon and Brad had this class with us as well. I drummed my fingers impatiently while glancing at the clock, where was she?
"Hey Jordan!" Someone lightly tapped my shoulder making me flinch. I turned around and spotted a girl standing behind me.
"Hi?"
My tone came out sounding more like a question than a greeting.
She looked down, seeming slightly embarrassed before plastering a smile on her face,"You dont remember me?"
I shook my head and aimed my attention back at the door waiting for Leila.
"Im Autumn-" She continued. "From Marvins?"
I raised my eyebrow at her and nodded slowly, looking over her shoulder checking for Leila.
"Oh...Thats right-"
She giggled and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, I told you we had Spanish together!"
I sighed and finally looked at her,"Guess you were right."
I knew I was being a jerk but I had enough on my plate as is and didn't need 'Autumn' breaking my focus.
"I just wanted to tell you that, I saw your game last Thursday. You were amazing!"
I looked at the clock, two more minutes 'til the bell rang and still no sign of Leila.
I groaned in aggrivation.
"In my opinion, you're the best on the whole team."
I scoffed before distractedly mumbling. "More like everyones opinion."
"Right!" She eagerly agreed.
I frowned at the fact that Leila probably wasn't coming, even if it drove me crazy.
I sighed and looked at the girl in front of me."Thanks...I guess."
She perked up at my little burst of attention and took a step closer.
"You know, I've always had a crush on you. We had Ap Euro together last semester-" She inched closer. "But you never noticed me. And now that you do, I wanna take advantage of it."
I made eye contact with her and smirked. This would never get old for me, girls practically throwing themselves at me left and right. Where did this generations self respect go?
I chuckled after looking her up and down. She had blonde hair and brown eyes. Nothing compared to Leilas electric blue ones though.
She was smiling at me seductively, I chuckled once again before saying. "You said your name was Autumn?"
She nodded slowly,"Oh yeah...I remember, you were the waitress at Marvins?"
She giggled again and asked,"Do you also remember that you were supposed to get my number this class period?"
I thought about this,"Was I?"
She grabbed the collar of my shirt with a smirk,"Uh-huh."
I eyed her hand with a raised eye brow and asked,"For what exactly?"
She batted her eyelashes trying to be sexy and said,"Because you promised to take me to the movies"
I was about to answer but the bell rang snapping me out of Autumns attempt to get me to ask her out, it also made me look up.
My eyes widend when I made eye contact with an angry Leila.
Her blue eyes were like lanterns, lit with anger and glowing with betrayel.
Her friend, what was it, Ramona? Was also glaring at me and Autumn.
I sighed,"Leila-"
She shoved her books into Ramonas arms before turning and bolting out of the room.
"My names Autumn-" Autumn said with a slight pout painted across her face.
I rolled my eyes before grabbing her wrists and removing her hands from my shirt.
"I wasnt talking to you" I growled before side stepping her and going after Leila.
The guys looked after me with confused expressions, having watched the scene unfold from the beginning.
I avoided their stares and acted as if I didn't hear Leilas friend Ramonas little 'Asshole' comment.
I ignored them all and still went after Leila. How would I explain this to her?
I looked both ways before barely catching a glimpse of her brown hair turning the corner of south hall.
"Leila!" I shouted.
She didnt turn around or acknowledge my calling after her,"Leila wait up!"
She kept her pace quick and kept ignoring me. I was actually kind of shocked. I wasnt used to being ignored. I jogged a little to catch up to her and grabbed her arm,"Leila-"
She suddenly turned, yanking her arm from my grasp,"What!"
Thats when I saw them. Tiny streams of tears flowed down her flawless cheeks. Her eyes were still angry but a new emotion was also showing. One I couldnt quite name, all I know was it made my chest ache and my heart beat slower.
To be honest it made me feel like shit. I raised my hand to touch her cheek but she turned away.
"Dont."
I sighed and took a step towards her only to have her take a step back.
"Leila let me explain."
She quickly looked down and wiped her cheeks. "So explain! Dont try and sell me one of those its not what it looks like stories either!"
I was stunned. That was the excuse I always used and...it always worked. I frowned and thought about it. She crossed her arms while waiting for my answer. All I wanted to do was grab her and hold her in my arms until she wasnt sad anymore. I racked my brain for something to say and remembered our old conversation.
"Do you want the truth or something related to it?"
She was quiet before deciding. "The truth."
I rubbed the back of my neck and let out a nervous breath.
"Well the truth is, I'm not used to relationships." She rolled her eyes and began to walk away.
I caught her arm and stopped her. "Leila listen to me."
When she didnt look up I made her look at me by placing my hand on her cheek and bringing her eyes to mine. I wiped away one of her tears, seeing her cry was like a blow to the stomache. I hated it and never wanted to see her cry again.
"Leila, I'm not used to being in a relationship-"
I sighed before smiling softly and saying,"But I'm willing to try for you."
