Hes The Man -Part 12-

~Leilas POV~

I took a deep breath and shifted slightly but my eyes still felt too heavy to open.

I could hear birds chirping loudly and the sound of a car occasionally driving by. For a second I forgot where I was but it slowly started to creep back into my memory.

I was at the park with Jordan DeVall, and from the feel of it I was laying on him.

I was careful to keep my breaths steady and tried hard not to move too much.

Slowly I creaked one eye open and was momentarily blinded by the sun...the sun!

I frowned and let out a long sigh to make it as if I had just woken up. Jordan stayed motionless but held his arm firmly around me.

Carefully I tilted my head and looked up and him, he was awake and had a serious expression on his face.

He looked deep in thought about something and didnt seem the acknowledge the fact that I was awake.

I smiled at him and finally asked,"Why didnt you wake me?"

He was quiet for a moment before looking down at me with a soft smile,"Hmm?"

I sat up and pointed in the direction the sun had risen. "We missed the sun rise." I stated with a frown.

"Well...you did, I didnt."

I playfully gasped in shock and shoved his shoulder,"Why didnt you wake me jerk!"

He chuckled while wrapping his arm around me again and pulling me closer, he didnt break eye contact when he said,"I probably should have woken you up, it was beautiful."

I smiled at him and giggled,"Way to rub it in."

He shook his head and tucked my hair behind my ear,"You didnt miss much though."

I laughed in confusion,"What do you mean? You just said it was beautiful-"

He grinned at me, never taking his eyes off of my face,"Yeah it was beautiful, but it was nothing compared to you."

I smiled and could already feel the blush rising in my cheeks,"Jordan-"

He stopped me by softly putting a finger to my lips.

"Dont say anything. Let me go first."

He turned so he was facing me and held both of my hands in his,"I know I was a jerk at first, but thats because ...because-"

He looked like he was stuck for words and finally sighed,"I just, I can't really tell you...Not yet atleast."

He smiled at my puzzled expression and looked straight into my eyes,"You'll know soon. I promise."

I laughed nervously and nodded my head,"Ok."

Jordan cupped my cheek with his hand, bringing me closer to him,"But in the mean time, I want to try this with you."

A small smile slowly crept its way across my face and I raised an eyebrow.

"Try what exactly?"

Jordan gave me a side smile. His face was now dangerously close to mine, our foreheads were touching and he whispered,"You and me."

Right before his soft lips crashed down on mine.

I walked into my house feeling like a million bucks.

The smile wouldn't leave my face and the giddy feeling that something amazing had just happend didn't leave me.

I sighed and rested my back against the door,"How was your night Leila?" My mom called from her a stool.

She was sitting at the kitchen counter holding a mug of coffee, she had that far off look that was foreign to her normally calm features.

She was just sitting there, starring out the window,"I hope you had fun Leila." She turned and looked me dead in the eye,"Because its never happening again"

I gasped and walked towards her,"Mom! I go out for the first time in three years and you're that fast to ban me from ever leaving again?!"

She sighed and kept her eyes on me while bringing all of her hair to one side,"Now Leila, I didn't say I was going to ban you. When I said you could go out, I didnt think that meant all night!"

I rolled my eyes,"Come on mom, why cant you be happy that I'm making progress!"

She frowned at me and tilted her head. "Progress Leila? Is progress keeping me up all night, worried sick? Is progress not returning any of my phone calls or texts asking if you're okay?"

I groaned and plopped down in a chair. "Mom. I had fun last night. Can you atleast be happy for me?!"

She stood up and immediately shouted,"I cant be happy for you when Seans killer is still out there and you don't bother calling-letting me know that you're ok!!"

Her words hung in the air and both of us were quiet.

I looked away from her and bit my lip, begging myself not to cry. The happy feeling I had before had vanished now and all that was left was the dull, numb feeling I felt when Sean was first killed.

"Im sorry for snapping at you Leila, but if you're gonna start going out regularly now, we need to set some ground rules."

I slowly nodded and looked up,"Im sorry mom."

She smiled and walked towards me, wrapping an arm around my shoulder,"I know hunny. Im sorry for getting mad."

She looked around before smiling. "Hey, what do you say we go grab some breakfast at Marvins. We can have endless amounts of pancakes while you tell me all about your night and this mysterious boy?"

I smiled and let out a laugh before nodding my head.

"Ok youre guna love him, mom"

She grinned at me before standing up,"I hope so. Im gonna go grab my jacket and then were outta here!"

I watched her walk out of the kitchen before releasing a sigh, me and mom were both kinda messed up without Sean.

I rested my head on my arms and breathed in deeply. A smile broke out across my face when I realized I was still wearing Jordans jacket.

"Come on sweetheart lets go!"

I stood up and slowly trailed after my mom thinking, maybe me and Jordan could work.

After he was the closest thing to normal in my life, me and mom both needed normal.
