Poppy stood in front of her mirror. She squinted at her dress then she shook her head. "Horrible," she groaned in annoyance. "Unzip me," she walked over to her mom.

Her mother snickered and shook her head, zipping the dress down. "I thought it was fine. Is this about Fisher's tastes again?"

Poppy took off the dress then she walked over to the closet.

"If a boy wants you to change things about yourself then maybe he isn't the one for you, my love. I told you to wait."

"Till when?" Poppy grabbed a top from her pile of unfolded clothes. "I get older? Mom, I'm ready to date."

"I thought I was, until I dated a crazy abuse guy for most of high school."

"You were naive. I'm not," Poppy slipped into the top. "Besides, you didn't have a supporting mom," Poppy smiled at her.

Her mother laughed. "My mom was in the military. Don't make her seem wicked. That's a nice top."

"It is," Poppy stared at it,"...But I can't wear it." Poppy quickly took it off.

"Honey, Fisher will be fine with whatever you wear-"

"It's not for him." "It's for Sadie."

Fisher stood in front of his family. He spun around on his heel. "So?"

"You look like you own a motorcycle," she little sister raised her brow.

"That's a good thing, right? It means I look cool."

"Do you own a motorcycle?"

"Obviously not-"

"Then no," she sassed, "You don't look good."

"You look like you're trying really hard," his older brother shook his head.

"That's because I am."

"I know why," his little sister smirked.

He glared at her with his 'don't you dare' eyes.

She gave him a haunted smile.

"Be yourself," his dad shrugged. "You always look good the way you are."

"Dad," his eldest brother shook his head," I think that that's what he's trying to step away from. The polo shirt and jeans thing is bland."

"But this is over the frickin' top," his little sister rolled her eyes.

"Language," their father pointed at her.

"Okay. It's over the flipping top. Like I asked five outfits ago, do you want me to pick something out for you?"

Fisher sighed. "That would be great. Thanks."

"No problem." She stood up from the coach. "I'll get you something Poppy would like-"

Fisher flinched then he looked at her with wide eyes.

"Oops?" she shrugged and smiled.

"Who's Poppy?" His father smiled amd furrowed his brows. "Is that a girl you like?"

His brothers all stared at him trying to hold in their laughs.

He sighed. "Yeah...she is."

Charlie sat on his bed listening to his brother argue with Sadie on their second floor. He put a chip in his mouth and flipped the page in his magazine.

His door suddenly flew open. "Charlie," Sadie shouted. "Tell your irritating brother that the green balloons are better than the red. Because he won't put them up and I don't want red in my party."

Mason rushed into the room. "You know how mom feels about green. Besides, the room looks better with red balloons."

"Everyone gets here in thirty minutes. We don't have time to argue over this. Wait," Sadie looked at Charlie with furrowed brows," why aren't you getting ready?"

"Hmm," Charlie raised his brows at the page of the magazine,"Ladie's bikini's are fifty percent off at Wal-Mart." He looked at them. "Who would've thought?"

They both glared at him then they walked out of the room continuing their arguement.

"Red Balloons!"

"No, GREEN!"

Charlie smiled then he flipped the page of the magazine.

Pearce sat in his living room alone with a bag of sweet and salty kettle corn. He changed the channel on the T.V. then he sighed and looked at the time. The party was in a few minutes. He squinted at the watch on his hand and bit the corner of his lip. He felt lonely. He had been feeling lonely for a while. His girlfriend barely ever texted and he could swear she was cheating. He looked at the T.V. again.

"Ooo, the Avengers," he put some corn in his mouth.
