Fisher's father kissed his forehead. "I hope you feel better."
"Thank you," Fisher gave him a weak smile.
He walked out of Fisher's room and shut the door. Fisher laid on his bed and listened to the car drive away then he sprang up from his bed and rushed over to his closet. He opened the door and helped Poppy stand.
She sighed. "Are you sure about this?"
Fisher gulped. He wasn't, but Poppy couldn't go home. Her parents thought she was at school. "It's okay. Don't worry. We're fine."
"Well...I can't keep my pajamas on and I need a toothbrush."
Fisher walked over to his drawer. "I'll get you a shirt. But you'll have to keep her pants on."
Poppy nodded knowing she wasn't going to listen to the last line.
He opened his drawer and handed her a bright blue shirt.
She took it and they both stared at each other. "I'll just...I'll change in the-," Poppy pointed at the door.
"Yeah," Fisher nodded.
Poppy walked out of the room.
Fisher quickly changed his clothes. He walked out of the room. "Crap," he slapped his forehead then he walked over to the bathroom door. "Poppy?"
"Yeah," she answered.
He listened with furrowed brows. "Are you showering?"
"Yeah... I felt like I should."
"Oh...Well, the toothbrushes are in the cupboard under the sink."
"Okay."
"Yeah," Fisher stood by the door listening to the water fall. "I-uh...I'm just wondering...what soap are you using?"
"The one in the blue bottle with your name in marker written across the label."
Fisher snickered. "Okay... What do you want for breakfast?"
"What do you have?"
"A lot."
"Whatever you're eating is fine."
"Okay," Fisher nodded at the door. He held his breath not wanting to leave her. He slowly sat on the floor and leaned his back against the door. She sang softly, causing him to smile.
He sat waiting until he heard the water stop.
Poppy got out of the shower and wiped her skin with one of the towels from the cupboard, then she put on Fisher's t-shirt. It barely covered her thighs, but she refused to put her pants back on. She looked around the cupboard for toothbrushes but she couldn't find any, so she walked over to the door and opened it.
Fisher quickly sprang to his feet. "Hey," he looked at her, embarrassed. "I decided to wait for you."
Poppy nodded and smiled. "Okay. I couldn't find the toothbrushes."
Fisher walked into the bathroom and opened the cupboard. He looked around, sticking his arm inside and feeling around. "Aha," he grabbed the pack. "Got them." He stood with the pack in his hand. "They were deep at the back."
"Okay," Poppy stared at him.
He opened the pack of toothbrushes. "Which one do you want?"
Poppy grabbed the pink one.
Fisher smiled at her then he put the pack back in the cupboard.
They both stood in front of the sink.
