Sadie walked into the cafe with her head down. She lifted her eyes and scanned each table until her eyes landed on the one. She felt like turning back his eyes met hers.

She slowly made her way over to the table and sat down in front of him. "Hi," she stared at him trying to seem proud.

He stared back with a glare. "Hi? Sadie," he leaned closer to her," You got me drunk and now you're blackmailing me and you want to great me with 'hi'?"

She looked down.

"I'm sorry but this is...," Brody shook his head, running his hand over his mouth," this is beyond ridiculous."

"What you did was beyond ridiculous," Sadie blurted out sitting up in her chair.

Brody looked around the cafe at the people staring. "Look," he turned to Sadie. "I can't stay here very long because I'm in public with a town celebrity so word's probably already on the street that I met with you. What do you want?"

Sadie leaned over. "Nothing."

Brody's expression drained to disgust. "You want nothing? You sent me a video of myself with a student and you told me to meet you here for nothing? I waited an hour for you to get here."

"I know...and I'm sorry. I just...I couldn't face you-"

"Please don't try to manipulate me with fake guilt. I've had enough of it. I know the kind of person you are now and I won't fall for it. Not anymore-"

"I'm not trying to manipulate you."

"Sadie, you've spoken to me for over a year now. You've called me crying on the phone. You've told me about your brother. About Poppy. What her sister did. You've told me everything about yourself. I know you... I thought I knew you then. I didn't. But I know you now. You're sick and you need help."

Sadie pouted her lips. Her eyes filled up with tears. "I'm not sick."

"Yes, Sadie. You are-"

"No," her face began to knot. She covered it and began to weep.

Brody stared at her. He had seen her cry this way before. He trusted her then, but not anymore.

She lifted her head and looked at him. "I only sent you the video because I knew you would come if I did. You hate me and you wouldn't have come if I didn't."

"I don't hate you. I've already forgiven you. I just don't want to be around you. Not now. Not when you're like this."

"Like what?"

"Not when you don't realize how sick you are-"

Sadie shook her head and turned away.

"Sadie, I thought I could help you. But I can't. You need professional help. I have a therapist who can help you-"

"I'm not crazy."

"Needing a therapist doesn't mean you're crazy-"

"But you think that I am."

Brody stared at her. "I think you're a sociopath."

"But I'm not-"

"You're in denial-"

"Just let me speak!"

Brody flinched.

The few people in the cafe grew quiet.

Sadie took a deep breath. "I'm not crazy and I'm not a sociopath. I'm just so unhappy. And I thought that attention would get me happiness. Money- I don't know. Anything that took my mind off of home. I thought that making a YouTube channel and having a boyfriend would make me happy. But instead, I had to make a new video smiling at my camera every Sunday and pretend to love my boyfriend who doesn't even love me."
