Noah walked down the hallway. He froze when he saw Fisher and Poppy talking. They both shared smiles then Fisher walked past her. He walked away but she stayed put with a frown on her face.

Noah looked down then he made his way toward her. "Hey," he touched her good shoulder.

"Hi," she smiled at him.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm...," Poppy remembered what Fisher had said about her trusting too easily. "I'm okay," she smiled at him.

"Are you sure? Because you looked sad-"

"Well, if I am why is it any of your business?"

Noah raised his brows. He let go of her shoulder. "You're right. I care too much," he chuckled scratching the back of his head.

"Yeah," Poppy folded her arms feeling a bit ashamed. "You do."

Noah shoved his hands in his pockets. "So...fourth period's about to start. I guess I'll catch you later?"

Poppy looked at the people staring. "Look-uhm...," she gulped and looked up at Noah. "I can't..." "hang out with you...Come on Poppy. Finish the sentence."

He stared at her.

"Nevermind." She felt something telling her not to let this one go.

He smiled. "Okay."

"Uhm...The reason...why I looked sad earlier. Fisher thinks they're going to hurt him for speaking up."

"What? Why would they do that? The names were removed. Only Sadie was named-"

"I know. But he was really scared. And I am too. I feel...I still care about him."

"That's expected. I mean, you two just ended it not too long ago. And you were in love, right?"

"Yeah...but I don't want to love him."

"You'll care about him regardless. Trust me. Even when the love is gone, he'll still be a part of you."

"Maybe I'll still care but a part of me? I don't think so."

"Well, you're a part of me."

Poppy stared at Noah. She giggled. "What?"

"I think that everyone is a part of the people we meet, and them a part of us. We impact and leave memories with each other. And that connects us."

"Who knew you were such a weirdo," Poppy smiled.

Noah chuckled. "My parents are weirdos. It runs in my genes."

The both snickered then shared stares.

Poppy looked back at Liam. "Hey," she signaled him to join them.

He was staring at his phone.

"Liam!"

He looked at her, then he walked over to them. "Have you checked your phone? Mason's trying to get to you."

"I blocked him," Poppy dug her pocket for her phone. "So, I don't think I can get his texts."

Liam stood replying. "I'm asking him what's going on."

They stood waiting for his reply.

The bell rang.

"I have class, man." Liam slapped his screen. "Come on!"

"Tell him we don't have the time for this," Poppy shook her head.

Liam suddenly froze.

"What's wrong?"

"It's long...but it seems like Sadie made Chris kidnap Fisher or something. They're threatening him off school property," Liam looked at her.
