El had been given a phone, for her being accepted into Hawkins High with her best friends, and as a way of keeping in contact with her boyfriend.
As usual, El was on the phone with Mike, being a typical loved-up teenager, and was twiddling the phone cord around her finger listening to what had happened in Mike's day.
"What did Max say?" She asks, as Mike explains what Lucas had done today.
"Let's just say, she refuses to talk to him, until he apologises," Mike stated, smiling down the phone hearing her voice was better than talking into his Supercom for 353 days.
El procceded to giggle down the phone, making Mike's smile - widen. Hearing El laugh was something extremely rare, which always made Mike's heart ache, how little she laughed or smiled - the trauma from the Lab left her like this.
"I missed you today," Mike blurted out, and he did. He spent the entire day with his friends, but all he could think of was what El would do, what she would have done today with the Party.
El smiled softly and sighed down the line. "I missed you too, Mike," she stated, making Mike sigh happily.
