Since El came home in the freezing cold Halloween night in October 1984, she was welcomed home with open arms.

The Byers and Cheif Jim Hopper welcomed her to their home with open arms, adopting her as a part of their family. El loved the Byers. 
* Will taught her how to draw, which helps her with the nightmares that plague her at night.
* Jonathan gave her mix tapes and a nightlight to help her sleep at night.
*Joyce helped her with her speech and spelling and everything that Brenner never taught her.
*Hopper read to her at night, letting her see the colourful pictures in the books Hopper use to read to Sarah. Hopper always answers questions that El had with patience.

When she was adopted by the Byers and Hopper, she came Ellie Jane Byers-Hopper.

The extended group were really happy their superhero was home.
*Dustin fed her chocolate pudding and a lifetime supply of Eggos.
*Lucas apologised for how he treated her during that week from hell.
*Max was introduced to the girl the three boys who worship the ground the telekinetic girl walks on.

Mike was so happy when she came home, he wouldn't let her leave his side. He stayed at the Byers for a whole week, before his mother dragged him back to his house.

El was sleeping over at the Wheeler's after an evening of binge watching the Star Wars saga. Mike asked if she wanted to sleep up in his room in a sleeping bag. The young teen firmly denied and fell into a peaceful sleep in her beloved blanket fort.

Only it wasn't as peaceful as she hoped.

The only things she can remember from the horrid nightmare was; Mike sneering down at her (opposite to the cute and happy smile he shows her every time he sees her), some form of bat in his hand, her papa at his side casting his cold, unforgiving eyes staring down at her.
And her loving, sweet, kind-hearted Michael Wheeler hitting her. With the bat.

She woke up screaming, crying and trying to get more oxygen into her system.

The echoing screams coming from the basement brought Mike out of his dream. A somewhat futuristic dream where he saw from the 3rd person of himself marrying Ellie Byers.

Mike sat up and then realised that El was in the basement. And she was upset. The boy quickly got out of his bed and ran out of his room.

Karen stood wearily eyed from her room, with Holly (rubbing her eyes) on her hip.

"El," Mike mutters, running down the stairs and down into the basement. Karen went after him, not as quickly though, to check on Ellie and Holly would want to see the teen girl she became quickly attached to.

When Mike made his way to her blanket fort, El moved away from Mike, shaking her head violently. The images of Mike hurting her stuck in her brain.

"El, sweetheart, what's wrong?" Karen asked, handing Holly to her older brother. The older woman sat next to the terrified girl and all Mike could do was watch from the sidelines as she sobbed into his mother's pyjama t-shirt.

Holly escaped her brother's arms and made her way to the crying girl. "Ellie," Holly pouted, feeling tears make their way to her eyes. El took her in her arms and then felt her t-shirt (that Mike had quickly grown out of) get soaked with Holly's tears.

"El," Mike whispered, looking at the girl he adores, feeling his heart break. El looked up and looked into the eyes of the boy who saved her from the rain the first night she escaped from the lab. Their friendship and relationship blossomed from that first night when Mike was nothing but kind and sweet to her. He would NEVER do something like that nightmare.

"Mike," El said, looking up at him with adoring eyes. Karen smiled at the young blossoming couple. Karen took a weary Holly out of Ellie's lap and went to go put Holly back to bed.

Mike walked to the girl crying in her blanket fort and gently wrapped an arm around her. He could see she was cautious to his touch (much like that night he met her) but then suddenly collapsed into his side and started crying heavily into his shoulder.

Never once did Mike tell her to calm down, he could see this had been building up for a long time. All he did at this moment in time was keep her close to his side, rub her arm soothingly and whisper sweet nothings into her ear.

The next morning would be seen with Mike Wheeler and Ellie Byers curled up tightly with one another in El's blanket fort happily.

And when Karen Wheeler went downstairs to wake up El for breakfast, she didn't have the heart to split them apart.

But right now, Mike is laying down in El's blanket fort as she slowly calmed down after crying and fell asleep in his arms. Mike smiled and fell asleep to the sound of her calm breathing and her calm heart beating against his chest.
