I woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling and the sound of busy people until remembering what happened last night. I sit up slowly to stretch then slump my head into my hands crying softly when I felt a hand tap me on the shoulder. I look up and there's Korra smiling sadly at me. I quickly stand up wiping my eyes in the process. "Oh hey Korra what brings you here." She says nothing and instead pulls me into a tight hug I slowly return it as it calms me down a bit. She pulls away and grips my shoulders tightly looking into my eyes.

Korra: "I am so, so sorry to hear about your father Brandon." She said with eyes full of hurt I looked down sadly but looked back up smiling.

Me: "It's ok Korra I really appreciate your concern and thank you, I just wish you could've met him before it all went down." she nodded and smiled slightly that's when Chief Beifong came up to us. She gave a slight glare at Korra but it passed immediately when when turned back to me

Lin: "The paperwork has been complete and you're free to go." I nodded to her reaching down to grab my belongings. "I wish I could've given you a place to stay but my hands are tied with that one." I was about to speak when Korra spoke up

Korra: "Don't worry about that Lin I already have that covered." I looked at her confused but she just smiled. "Tenzin told me to come down here and get you, starting today you're living on Air Temple Island with me, Pema, Tenzin, and the kids." my eyes widened and my mouth opened a bit in shock.

Me: "You can't be serious right." she just shook her head reassuring me that she was completely serious and I was just sitting there speechless until she grabbed my wrist pulling me out the door.

Korra: "Come on Brandon let's go home." I smiled nodding my head running after her into my new life.

(Time skip)

It's been a about two days since I moved into Air Temple Island and I've never been happier . Everyone has treated me so nicely I couldn't be more thankful for having them all around me. My days were spent helping around the Temple since I didn't want to seem like a freeloader even though Pema assured me that it was all alright though I could tell she really appreciated it. The other times of the day I would usually spend watching Korra train with Tenzin on her airbending or play around with Naga Korra's Polar Bear Dog, she seemed to take a liking to me rather quickly sometimes I find her outside my room wanting to play. Whenever Tenzin has his meetings with the other council members Korra and I would personally train our own skills with each other over the course of different exercises and occasionally sparring with each other since she found out that I can do different forms of martial arts. She's a quick learner i'll give her that she only wishes that what I teach her could come as fast as airbending, I reassure her that it will come to her in time and that she just needs to keep up with Tenzin's training. One morning I walked in the dining room for breakfast to find Korra and Tenzin discussing something about pro bending which caught my eye.

Me: "Morning Korra, Tenzin." I yawned "Did you guys say something about Pro Bending." I asked raising an eyebrow, Korra looked up excitedly.

Korra: "Yea! I was hopping Tenzin could take me to a match but he believes that I need to focus more on my Airbending training and that Pro Bending ruins the basic tradition of bending." she stated in a huff.

Tenzin: "Yes I also believe that you must master what it means to be an Avatar first and that we should give you a calm and quiet environment for you to master airbending." She looked down a little disappointed so I decided to speak up a bit.

Me: "Aw come on Tenzin I understand how important it is for Korra to master all four elements but I'll have to say that Pro Bending might actually help Korra see how much the world has changed by watching different styles of fighting." He shook his head at me.
