Chapter 36: Power of Gods

About a day later Iroh finally arrived at Republic City and I haven't slept at all for I've been too busy looking for more answers on Serena and about Korra... Oh god Korra how could I have been so stupid on letting her get taken but I swear on my life I will get her back. I had just finished filling everyone in on what's going down and we all sat in silence pondering of what's to come.

Mako: "I don't get it Serena was supposed to be the second Avatar right, so how is he still alive after all these years?" I just shook my head leaning forward on my knees.

Me: "I'm not entirely sure either maybe he's just a spirit which is why he's still in the Spirit World and that would also explain why he sent those other Dragon Slayers after us in his stead." Gajeel tsked at that.

Gajeel: "Speaking of those assholes what kind of bending were they using? Those weren't any of the natural elements either." Lucy stepped forward with a book in her hand and her brows furrowed.

Lucy: "It says here that back when Dragons still roamed the lands they could use all sorts of powers even elements that could never be bent by a normal person like Shadows or Light in our case." I stood up to pace the room a bit.

Raiko: "What are you thinking Brandon? Obviously you have an Idea to stop this." I stopped and faced the window.

Me: "My father told me to go into the Spirit World and find him if I do that then maybe he could help us stop Serena like he did in the past or at least give us some ideas on how we could stop him." I turned to face everyone with a look of determination. "Iroh have all of your men and mine station themselves inside of the portal set up any kind of defense you can, Raiko I suggest we start to evacuate the city in preparation for the worse I don't wish to bring War to Republic City but if they break through then I don't want anyone getting hurt." They both nodded and immediately went to the phones to make calls and I turned back to Tenzin. "Tenzin I ask that you bring Wendy to me if you can I plan on taking her with us to the Spirit World." He nodded and raced out of the room. "Mako and Bolin I don't want to ask to put you guys at risk but-" Mako came up to put his hand on my shoulder.

Mako: "Don't worry we'll help Iroh with the defenses it's our city too after all." Bolin nodded clenching his fists.

Bolin: "Mako's right we're in this until the very end." I smiled and turned back to my team.

Me: "The rest of us will go into the Spirit World and split up, Lucy and Levy will go to Wan Shi Tong's Library and look for any information about Serena and his abilities tell the Owl I sent you he still owes me some favors, Grey and Juvia will come with Gajeel, Olivia, Wendy and myself as we go to find my father got it?" They all nodded and I smiled. "Good now let's get this started."

A few hours of waiting outside of the Portal and I saw a little Blunette fly down on a glider before jumping into my arms in excitement.

Wendy: "It's so good to see you again I've missed you all these years." I smiled setting her down to ruffle her hair a bit and I was surprised that she really hasn't grown much at all and the fact that she was almost a full adult now.

Me: "It's good to see you too Wendy you really haven't changed a bit have you?" She shook her head and beamed up at me giggling a bit before looked back at me with a serious expression.

Wendy: "Tenzin filled me in on what's going on and I'm ready to help." I smiled at that and turned back to the others.

Me: "Alright let's get this show on the role then." They nodded and we stepped through the portal and for the first time it was empty not a single Spirit was around. "Something isn't right here."

Olivia: "It's like the Spirit World is empty plus it smells off as well." I nodded and brought my fingers to my lips whistling loudly and soon my little Phoenix friend popped into view landing at our feet.
