Chapter 3: The Equalists

It's been about a week since Korra joined the Fire Ferrets so she leaves the island pretty early in the morning for practice so I'm mostly alone now, but I don't mind It actually gives me time to train myself which made me feel better about myself since I'm the only one in the group that can't bend. I've tried to do some firebending in secret ever since the time when my father died and I scorched the wall. But I haven't had any luck with that. Today Korra doesn't have practice so we decided to do some training for the day. Korra, Ikki, Jinora, and I were at the wind panels for Korra to pass through them hoping to get the footwork down of an airbender. Ikki and Jinora sent the panels spinning as Korra flawlessly she ended on our side breathing heavily when Jinora looked up to see Mako walking up the stairs.

Jinora: "Oooh he's cute, Korra is that the firebender that drives you crazy." Korra looked behind her before panic a bit.

Ikki: "Does he drive you crazy in a good way or in a bad way." at this point she earth bended them in the air so Mako couldn't hear while I was trying super hard not to burst out laughing at what just happened.

Korra: "Hey Mako what brings you here?"

Mako: "Have you seen Bolin around I can't find him anywhere?"

Korra: "Nice to see you too.. But no I haven't seen him since practice."

Me: "Why don't we help you look for him knowing Bolin he probably just fell asleep at a noodle shop." Mako nodded his head and Korra came up with an idea.

Korra: "Why don't we take Naga she can help us track him down if it comes to that." I nodded as she called Naga over allowing the three of us to climb on her back and head towards the city.

(Time skip)

After asking a few questions we learned that Bolin went off with one of the Triple Threat members which made me sad remembering my father but I quickly shook it off knowing Bolin needed our help. Once we arrived at the hangout Korra and Mako went inside while I stayed with Naga in case we needed a quick escape. That's when I heard a group of engines roar out back before they swerved down the street. I caught sight of Korra and Mako and I kicked Naga to catch up as they climbed on her back.

Me: "What's going on what happened to the Triple Threats." Mako shook his head.

Mako: "The Triple Threats weren't there and that truck in front of us has Bolin inside of it." My eyes went wide as I was trying to piece together who would want to kidnap gang members unless... I was interrupted when Naga took a sharp turn down an alleyway Korra and Mako threw some of their bending at them trying to slow them down but these guys were dodging everything coming at them soon we opened up into a larger area where three of the cyclists stopped and threw a tether rope which wrapped around Nagas legs throwing us off as she buckled underneath us. I was able to recover quickly as one of them rushed towards me. I throw a punch at him which surprised him as if he was expecting something else out of me. He threw a series of punches I was able to block barely whoever this guy was he had a lot of training. I threw a kick to his head, he ducked and sweeped at my feet I jumped over him but before I could do anything he hit me in various places making my body go numb as I landed next to Korra and Mako with the same thing happening to them. As they started to close in on us Naga jumped in front of us scaring them off as they hoped on their bikes and drove off. Korra was the first to get up trying to bend at them but nothing came out.

Korra: "Arg why can't i bend anything. " Mako stood up behind them.

Mako: "Don't worry it'll come back those are Chi Blockers they work for Amon." Ah that's what made me suspicious those guys hate benders and basically want to keep republic city bender free no wonder they took the Triple Threat and Bolin but I wonder what they're planning.
