Chapter 30: Kuvira's Gambit

Morning came as we approached Kuvira's last know position as we searched for anything close to Kuvira's army and her weapon.

Bolin: "Guys I see something, over there!" We all looked over to what Bolin was pointing at to see hundreds of tanks pushing on as they've already crossed our border.

Korra: "That's Kuvira alright and they're a week early." Mako looked at the army confused.

Mako: "This doesn't make any sense there aren't any train tracks here so how are they transporting that super weapon." That's when I heart loud thuds in the distance almost as if something was... walking? That's when a giant Mecha suit appeared from over the mountains with a giant cannon attached to its right arm.

Me: "Well I guess that answers that question." That's when it turned towards us aiming its cannon as it started to glow pink.

Bolin: "I know what happens next we need to get out of here now!" But it was too late as a spirit beam launched out of the barrel heading straight for us. I did the only think I could think of hopping up to perform a Kamehameha.

Me: "Kamehame...HAAAA!" My attack collided with the Spirit Beam but I didn't charge my attack enough as the beam overpowered me pushing it back towards us. Luckily that gave us enough time to drop out of the air avoiding the attack making my stomach drop a bit. "We need to warn Raiko and it's time to come up with a new plan immediately." Korra nodded and flicked the reins speeding up back to the city. We arrived at Air Temple Island early afternoon and were greeted by president Raiko, Tenzin, Sue and her sons, Lin and Pema looking very concerned.

Tenzin: "Are you guys alright, why are you back so soon?" We hopped off the bison running up to him.

Korra: "It's Kuvira our intel was wrong she must've know Zhu Li had the information."

Raiko: "What are you trying to say?"

Korra: "Kuvira's army is only a few hours away." They all went wide eyed and angry.

Tenzin: "No they can't be, we're not ready." I stepped up in front of Raiko.

Me: "There's another thing Kuvira's weapon is now attached to a giant walking Mecha Suit made out of solid Platinum." He nodded looking back at Lin.

Raiko: "Get General Iroh on the line tell him the attack is happening today, we need to lock down this city." Lin nodded rushing off while Tenzin turned back to his wife.

Tenzin: "Pema find Wu and Olivia and help them get the rest of the citizens to safety we can't have innocent lives in jeopardy." She nodded and rushed off.

Bolin: "What should we do?"

Asami: "Let's head to my factory maybe we can get a few of those hummingbird suits up and running plus I have some things there for you Brandon." I raised an eyebrow but nodded.

Sue: "I'll come with you and help if I can." We nodded towards her.

Korra: "I'll head to the frontlines and help General Iroh." I looked at her a little concerned.

Me: "Be careful alright." She just smirked at me before she rushed back inside to grab her glider while we made our way to Asami's factory. "Damn Asami these things look pretty good." I said in awe as I came face to face with her new mecha suits.

Asami: "I just hope they actually work but come over here for a second." I walked over to where she was standing by another work table at the far end of the room. "Olivia told me about your last fight with Gajeel and I think I can help you out a bit with his Dragon Force." I raised an eyebrow as she turned around holding a single black fingerless glove along with black combat boots. "These are shock absorbant since he can turn all metal I thought you'd like to keep the feeling in your limbs." I laughed at that but accepted the gifts nonetheless.
