Chapter 38: War for the Spirit World

The following morning was full of movement and nervous faces as we prepared ourselves for basically the end of the world. I watched as the soldiers all rushed around setting up some of Asami's new tanks loading them up with necessary ammunition for the benders as well as some new prototype cannons that stay in place as they shoot up into the air until it gains more momentum as it then comes crashing down on our enemies, kinda like a catapult in some way but doesn't use the whole pulley process and is faster to load and fire. The troops that would actually engage the enemy were lined up in different groups depending on their nation and due to my request to Tenzin no Airbenders will be fighting in this war for they are too rare to put into a danger like this. I walked all the way up where General Iroh and the other Nation Leaders (Excluding Raiko) Stood next to him as well as my team a few paces away from them. I took my place just below Iroh as he looked at our army with both pride and fierce determination.

Iroh: "Troops today we will be raiding God Serena's castle in order to prevent him from gaining the power from Avatar Korra who is currently inside of that fortress and... you know what I won't be briefing you today." I looked up at him confused as did all the soldiers who murmured to themselves. "I hereby declare Commander Brandon of the United Forces and our Dragon Force squad to brief you." I was shocked not only because I've never given an inspirational speech in my life and the fact that I was just promoted to a damn Commander now. I took a deep breath as I walked up to Iroh who was just smirking at me as if he planned this from the beginning. "Knock em dead." He stated patting me on the shoulder making me glare at him slightly before taking my place in front of well my army now.

Me: "First of all I'd like to personally thank each and every member of this army for being here today for if this situation wasn't so dire I would never have asked to bring any of you into this, as General Iroh said today we march to Serena's Fortress where Avatar Korra is currently on the path to being used in a ritual which will grant Serena the ability to walk amongst the living once more which we must stop by all means before it's too late, now I must ask of you to fight not just to save the Avatar but to save our world the homes of the people you love I ask that you all fight not as a single person but as one unit who will never be defeated I ask that you fight with me and I promise you we will assure our victory today now stand up and follow me to victory FOR THE SPIRIT WORLD!!!!" The whole army went into an uproar of cheers and that honestly surprised me for I thought I bombed that whole speech entirely. I stepped down from my spot and was greeted by the others as they too were ready to fight.

Beifong: "Not bad kid seems like you really can give a good speech." I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly.

Me: "Thanks chief and thank you everyone for helping me in this whole mess of a war." Tonraq placed his hand on my shoulder gripping it tightly.

Tonraq: "I wouldn't have missed this for the world especially since my daughter's life is at stake once more, I will gladly follow you into battle just say the word." Everyone nodded in agreement bringing a smile to my face. I truly do have the greatest friends in the world.

Me: "Alright then if we're ready I'd like to go over the final plan with you all while our troops get into position." They all leaned in closer with serious faces. "I want to split our army into thirds Tonraq and Lin will focus on defending our artillery cannons from any sort of attack since those will be our biggest game changer in this war." They nodded and ran off to oversee preparations. "Next I want Izumi and her army to lead our Firebending tanks which will become the bulk of our defense for the Troops on the ground, try and cover them as much as possible while Iroh and the rest of the army push through the middle while me and my team push on to the capitol and finally Tenzin I ask that you lead our air support since they don't have too many counter measures in those planes." They all nodded and I looked back at them clenching my fists a bit. "We cannot afford to lose this fight but I promise you I will beat Serena before we lose anymore time... now let's go we have a war to win."
