Chapter 4: Betrayal

A few days have gone by since the bombing of the arena and the city has been in a panic since then and the Police have started to get more violent trying to get everything under control. Mako and Bolin moved in with Asami and her father which Korra was a little disappointed about and I knew exactly why. A few weeks before Mako met Asami Korra came to me and asked me how she should go about telling Mako about her feelings but now Mako is with Asami and I can tell that hurts her a bit. Today we were invited by Asami to come to her mansion and try to get some relaxation. When we arrived I was I lost all my words their Manson was freakin huge! Her butler opens the door and guides us to the pool where Mako and Bolin were found trying to drown each other while Asami watched from the side.

Asami: "I'm so glad you guys could make I hope you're ready for today." Korra looked unimpressed

Korra: "Let me guess we're going to go and get our makeup and nails done psh sounds real fun."

Asami: "Actually I had something a little more exciting in mind." They got out of the pool to get changed before leading Korra and I to a huge racetrack where we saw two Sato Mobiles racing alongside each other. "What do you think." she asked Korra who looked like a little kid on her birthday.

Korra: "This is wayyy better than a makeover." I caught Asami smirking as she started making her way down to the track.

Asami: "Well are you coming or what." Korra looked at her surprised before running after her

Korra: " Oh hell yea."

I have to say Asami is a master driver I couldn't believe what I was seeing she had the other driver wrapped around her finger the whole time as she made him spin out right at the finish line. We made our way back inside and Korra excused herself to use the bathroom so it was just the four of us as we talked and laugh which was something we haven't done since Amon appeared. Then all of a sudden Korra came running down the stairs grabbing my hand leading me to the door.

Korra: "Sorry we need to go i forgot that we have to air sit I mean baby bend I mean."

Me: "Babysit the airbenders?" she nodded and we walked out the door I pulled her aside once we got far enough away. "What was that all about?" she looked down

Korra: "I overheard Hiroshi talking to an equalist member on the phone." my eyes went wide and I grabbed her on the shoulders firmly looking at her dead in the eye.

Me: "Are you certain about this because if this is true then we have a major problem." She nodded firmly at me and I could see in her eyes that she was being completely honest with me. "Well let's go tell the chief what we learned I have a feeling things are going to get ugly now."

(Time skip)

We arrived back at the Sato estate with a whole team consisting of police officers, Tenzin, Korra, Lin, and myself. We made our way to the dining room as the officers broke down the door and Mako, Bolin and Asami where eating dinner and Bolin put his hands up in surrender.

Asami: "What are you doing here."

Lin: "We have reason to believe there's a factory hidden below the mansion."

Asami: "Im pretty sure I would know if there was a factory underneath my house the lies you people come up with just to persecute my father.'

Tenzin: "Where is your father?"

Asami: "In his workshop behind the house." We followed Asami out back where we saw a small building which must've been his workshop looks like that'll be where all the answers are. Mako pulled me aside first to talk to me.

Mako: "Why are you on their side with this you've known us longer I would've at least though you'd have our back." I shook my head and looked at him with a stern face.

Me: "I know Mako but this is something serious and I'm not picking sides, I'm doing this to try and protect the city if we're wrong then we can apologize and move on but if there really is something here then we have a serious problem on our hands." with that I walked away as the guards neared the entrance. The officers kicked the door open and rushed in only to find it was empty with Hiroshi nowhere to be found.

Officer: "Chief we've secured the whole estate there's nothing here." she walked into the middle of the room before closing her eyes and slamming her foot down onto the ground.

Lin: "There's a tunnel under the workshop leading deep into the mountain side." she turned around and ripped open the secret panel which was hiding an elevator leading deep underground. We formed a team of me, Korra, Lin, Tenzin, and most of the police force there while one stayed behind to watch Mako, Bolin and Asami. I looked back at them sadly before turning back to what now lies ahead.

The elevator brought us down quite a long ways before we came up to a small loading platform which lead us into a massive room filled with these giant robots which must've been Amons new weapons he plans on using against the city. Then all of a sudden a massive wall shot up behind us blocking the exit. Lin ran up to try and metalbend it and that's when we heard someone behind us.

Hiroshi: "I'm afraid you won't be able to metal bend that wall Chief Beifong." then six of those robots all turned on and closed in on us. "It's solid Platinum just like my new Mecha Tanks not even your mother could bend something so pure."

Korra: "Hiroshi I knew you were up to something come out here and-"

Hiroshi: "And what young Avatar come out and face your bending, I think I'll be just fine sitting in here thank you very much." That's when he attacked sending a rope claw making us roll out of the way. This sucked for me I couldn't bend anything now I have to try and fight a giant mech made out of solid Platinum ugh I should've just stayed upstairs with the others. At this point I was just trying to be a distraction while the others could fight it was working until one of the mechs got a clean hit on Korra slamming her into a pipe knocking her unconscious. Tenzin shot some air underneath her to break her fall, I tried to make it to her as well but was cut off from two more mechs as they shot cables at me. That's when I saw Tenzin get hit by an electrical tether and something inside me snapped as I felt heat building up as if I was going to explode.

Me: "DON'T MESS WITH MY FAMILY!!" I shot a massive fireball stunning the two mechs in front of me then pushed the fire out of my feet to propel me towards Tenzin and Korra but was cut off by a mech cable which slammed me into the wall, after that everything went dark.

I sat up breathing heavily until clutching my side in pain. Then I felt someone giving me a hug and look up to see Korra there thank goodness she was alright.

Korra: "I'm glad you're ok you took a pretty big it from what I heard from Mako and Bolin." she said softly "They also said they saw something pretty unreal happen to you... something involving fire?" I looked away after hearing that part.

Me: "Yeah that's the third time I have been able to do it, I didn't tell anybody because I thought it was a fluke of some sort but while we were down there I saw you and Tenzin get hurt and something just snapped inside of me I can't really explain it I'm sorry." she smiled softly at me

Korra: "Hey it's ok in fact I think it's wonderful you've been able to discover something brand new about yourself I just wish it hadn't occurred over something bad like this." I nodded back at her and laid back down thinking to myself. We got beat too easily today and if Amon has a whole army like this we may be in bigger trouble than we thought.
