Chapter 35: The Enemy Appears

I woke with a start, gazing outside as the sun just started to rise above the sea. I put my hand to my head thinking about what just happened but now I've had three family members confirm that something is coming and it won't be good. I carefully got out of bed not wanting to wake Korra as I made my way to my office just across from the living room which gave me an all points view of the mountains, city and ocean. I picked up the phone at the end of my desk dialing the few digits allowing it to ring until a very tired voice opened on the other side.

Lucy: "With all do respect commander I would prefer if you call me past eleven on my days off." I chuckled a bit dryly.

Me: "Sorry Luce but this is important have you Olivia and Gajeel meet me at Raiko's office in one hour and bring all of your books on Avatars and the Dragons I'll explain everything then." I heard a groan of approval and I put the phone back on the hook making my way back to the bedroom waking Korra up in the process.

Korra: "Sweetheart what's wrong why are you up so early?" I just shook my head as I started to the bathroom.

Me: "Last night I had a dream about my father." Her eyes widened in surprise. "He told me the same thing Igneel and mom told me and I have a feeling that something is coming so I'm heading to Raiko's office with the team if you'd like you can get the others in on this as well we meet in one hour." She nodded getting up as well and while I was getting ready she made the calls to Tenzin and the others. Once that was done I made a quick breakfast while Korra got ready and we quickly ate as we headed out the door to the lower garage hopping on my motorcycle as we zoomed out onto the streets weaving in between traffic making out way to the capitol building and heading inside. I found my team all in uniform patiently awaiting my arrival as well as Tenzin, Asami and Beifong all looked both confused and slightly anxious. "Glad you all could make it sorry for having it be so soon and early."

Tenzin: "It's not a problem at all but what has happened? Clearly it's something important." I nodded walking past them all pushing the doors open to a surprised and slightly annoyed Raiko.

Raiko: "Ah commander would you mind telling me why you are in my office so early in the morning and with your team no doubt." I nodded signalling for everyone to gather around as I took a few deep breaths.

Me: "Last night Igneel came to our apartment covered in wounds and on the verge of death." I heard gasps all behind me and even Raiko seemed surprised to hear this. "He told me a man by the name of Serena is going around killing off all of the Dragons in the Spirit World and that once he's finished he'll be coming here to our world." Raiko pondered at this for a moment leaning on his elbows.

Raiko: "And you are certain we can believe what Igneel says?" I nodded grimly.

Me: "Last night Igneel passed away in our apartment." I took a breath and I felt my sister squeeze my hand a bit with her eyes closed shut. "After that I went to my mother in the Spirit World only to find both her and Metalicana Gajeel's dragon in full armor and they also confirmed what Igneel had said, she also told me to find my father who was once a Dragon... well last night he came to my dream as well confirming of Serena killing off Dragons until he makes his way to this world." The air was still as everyone took in all of the information I suddenly slapped in front of them all.

Raiko: "What can you tell me about this Serena man anyways and what he wants with this world." I turned to Lucy bringing her up to his desk dropping her books off in the process.

Me: "According to Igneel he was the second Avatar to appear in our world as well as the second to achieve the power of Dragon Slaying like Korra and Avatar Wan before him." Lucy took that as he que to start flipping through some pages as I continued. "He said that instead of bringing peace and balance he abused his power by enslaving the world and would have succeeded until... until my Father Leonidas put an end to his little game." I got a couple wide eyes from the sound of that since up until now My mother was the only one and Lucy gasped a little as she found what she was looking for.

Lucy: "He's right it says right here that Avatar Serena was soon removed from the hall of Avatars for he was to become the first and last dark Avatar and also gained the title of God Dragon Slayer which in my other book here." She said switching over to a slightly larger book looking to be thousands of years old. "It says that the title of God was thrown around by Dragons as it showed of one's true strength and the first Dragon to ever obtain this title was Leonidas." My blood chilled at that so my father wasn't entirely lying about him being a God but what did he mean about my heritage. "But the thing is that his story ends here there's nothing else in this book about him."

Me: "I should know... he's my father." They all looked at me with wide eyes. "He said that I should find him in order for him to helps us but I don't know where the hell he is, plus even if I did know I can't leave this city undefended-" That's when I heard something behind us as did Korra, Olivia and Gajeel as they all sprang into their fighting stance as the door exploded off its hinges revealing three men who smelled all to familiar. The one on the left was dressed in grey clothes with a black skirt that had a red cross on each flap as well as metal greaves and a black cloak covering his right side matching his hair. The middle was a blond man with spiky hair and a crystal earring on his left ear he wore a crop top with a sleeveless fur jacket and baggy black pants with matching boots and arm sleeves. Then lastly the one on the right was also a blonde man but was far taller and muscular than the others as he wore a black shirt under his black fur coat which was lazily draped over his shoulders like Gajeel and red pants, I also noticed a scar across his left eye in the shape of a lightning bolt. They all glared at us like we messed with them or something but there was one thing they all had in common and that was their blood red eyes.

Raiko: "Who the hell do you think you are to just bust in my office!" I put my hand up to Raiko as I tried to shut him up. The man in the middle just laughed as he walked towards us.

Sting: "Ah forgive my manners I am Sting the Light Dragon Slayer and this is Rogue and Laxus the shadow and lightning Dragon Slayers, I have been sent by his grace to retrieve a very peculiar woman... the Avatar to be exact." I glared at him as I stepped in front of Korra pulling her behind me.

Me: "Get anywhere near her and I'll burn you to a crisp." He put his hands up in defense but was clearly finding my threats amusing.

Sting: "Ah so you're the Flame Dragon I've heard so much about I understand your concerns but I am afraid I cannot leave here today without her so if you would be so kind as to move aside we'll be on our way." I said nothing and just glared at him feeling my flames start to form around my body and Gajeel and Olivia even took their positions in front of me as well picking their targets, this just made Sting sigh as if he was annoyed at this. "Fine then we'll do this the hard way." He snapped his fingers causing Rogue to dash forward towards me. Gajeel stepped in front of me swinging his arm out but instead of having it connect Rogue just morphed into it as he turned into one giant shadow catching Gajeel off guard until he was sent through the wall behind Raiko. Tenzin stepped up next blasting some wind at Rogue forcing him out of his shadow state as he tumbled near Laxus who just cracked his neck a bit before sending a bolt of Lighting at him knocking him to the ground. That angered Olivia as she jumped forward in an attempt to attack but was shocked as well as it intensified against her water abilities. That left Korra and myself as Sting appeared in front of me gently placing a hand to my stomach and a strange symboled appeared as it glowed a bit until he detonated it sending me crashing into Raiko's table. I gazed upon him with blurry vision as he just knocked Korra out slinging her over his shoulder with ease. "Sorry bud but you brought this upon yourself, be seeing you." He said turning and walking away. I growled as I struggled to stand up until Laxus snapped his fingers sending a surge of electricity into my body knocking me out.

I awoke to the face of a worried Asami as the others were sprawled across the room looking at the floor in both shame and defeat.

Asami: "Thank goodness you're alright I was afraid when you blacked out, how're you feeling?" I shook my head standing up groggily.

Me: "Asami they took her and yet I couldn't do anything to stop them." I said clenching my fists in frustration, Asami just wrapped her arm around me to comfort me a little.

Raiko: "I know you feel pain right now Brandon but we need to act so what do you need to do?" I stood up looking up at the doors where they left through.

Me: "Call in General Iroh and my team tell him to bring every last ship to Republic City, It's time to prepare for war."
