"Are you?" he asked. Even though he wasn't talking to me, the sound of his voice quenched the inferno building up within her. I breathed a sigh of relief. Who knew it came out loud, loud enough to get his attention.

"I'll call you back later," he spoke in to the phone before disconnecting it.

"Assalamu alaikum," I said for the second time, he had been too engrossed to hear me the first time.

"Wa alaikumu salaam, I wasn't expecting you back so soon," Ya Ahmad began.

"I got bored."

More like you got bullied, a mean voice said.

"Oww, I see," Ya Ahmad drawled. He was most certainly not convinced. "Don't just stand there, have a seat."

I sat on the chair adjacent his. Royal blue had always boosted my mood - the main reason why I chose it - but it had no effect on me that day.

A low sound got my attention turned out it was Ya Ahmad patting the space next to him. My heartbeat raced instantly. Why does he always ask me to sit close to him? The proximity makes me feel things I don't understand.

"Dimple.."

I quietly moved to where he was sitting but not so close to him. I could feel his gaze on me despite mine being averted. My jaws dropped when I felt my veil slowly leaving its place over my shoulder. My gaze shifted from where the white piece lay on a chair to the figure that scooted closer to me. My eyes almost bulged out of their sockets still my discomfort didn't stop him from slipping his hands through my fingers.

"Tell me," his voice was merely short of a whisper. The sound of which made me want to spill my guts. Seconds later his other hand brushed over mine back and forth not without sending vibrations to my spine.

"I...Uhh...It..Its not a big deal."

Great! Talking distracted me from the feeling.

"Was it Sameera?"

"No!"

"What did they say to you dimple?"

"Its too embarrassing, I can't even..no I'd rather not say."

"Then I won't ask you again. You should know that their opinion is as insignificant as they are. They don't know you and they don't want to know you, all they want is to bring you down, make you feel small. That says a lot about them as it does about you. There is something about you that evokes such jealous within them because they know for a fact that they can't beat you."
